Gold Shogun Don: Urban Legend?

Does this figure actually exist? I could have SWORN it did, but Andrewdsz is insisting it doesn't. Does anyone know for sure?

No, that's Leonardo. The blue clothes/bandana should be the deciding factor...

Archon didn't seem to think it ever existed either. But I distinctly remember seeing one on e-bay YEARS ago. If I had known this was ever going to come up I would have saved the picture. I believe it SKY-ROCKETED...

It does, I had one when they first came out.
I bought it at hills department store.
The box was before they switched to the hanging type card and they still used the little punch tab.
Like an idiot I thought April and Splinter would be more rare at the time so I took him back so I could buy a Splinter because I didn't have the money to buy all of them.

Damn...you probably had the only one ever produced...

We all make mistakes though, Vaughn. And you went on to become one of the most knowledgable fans in this community...but that probably doesn't make you feel any better.

What do you mean taking a page out of the tokka book and feeling pretty numb? I dont mean to be intrusive im just perplexed and interested to know what that tokka book comment means and why your feeling numb?

I wish I could feel numb these days, instead I feel lots of pain

He isnt talking about the TMNT character, he is talking about one of the forum members. You would have to know him to understand.

I could have sworn I'd seen one many moons ago as well, but I had no interest in him over some others at the time (as a younger lad I never thought about what figures would be "rare", just the coolest ones). Then again, I clearly remember seeing a Quarry 2 years before she was released, so what do I know?

I saw her too at a Walmart. They were stocking figures and I remember seeing her in the box of stuff they had. I had no money at the time so I wasn't buying any figures, I also had no idea she was going to be rare. Got her at a Kay Bee a few years later along with Karai and Bishop.

..... Sometimes I wonder how many rare figures are waiting to be discovered at flea markets/old stuff at some old shops for a ridiculous price!!!!....
....Probably I had seen some of those and I never know!!!!...Ouch!

Not this time! If someday I see a Donatello Shogun with Golden armor I will pick it!...LOL!!!

I saw one last January at Target amidst the 25th Ann. figs, thought "What the hell?" and passed on it since I already had one. After thinking about it I went back to get it so I could open her and someone had nabbed her.

I don’t believe it exists. Shogun Raph, Leo, and Mike had gold armor. Donatello would have to be the rarest gold armored Shogun turtle figure out of them all.

Even Michael Sorensen (kaptainmyke) has Gold Shogun Don listed as "Ultra Rare" on his webpage: http://www.kaptainmyke.com/tmnt/tmntchecklist.htm
