I wasn't able to share my thoughts on his death on the day it was announced because I was going through so many emotions at the time. Alex Trebek was truly a national treasure and one of the greatest game-show hosts of all-time. He will be dearly missed and has left behind an amazing legacy.

After Alex Trebek's final episode, the show will go on with a string of guest hosts. The first being, of course, Ken Jennings.

Well Ken was already made part of the show this season, guess that doesn't come as much of a surprise. I believe he and Alex may have talked on-screen at least once about him being succeeding host one day, now it's a soon-to-be reality. I know Alex had the same talk with James, of course there were I believe a number of contestants who may have joked/toyed about that with Alex over the years.

Here is a great message from Trebek that he recorded before he passed away.

Wow. He does not sound good at all. He really did give us all of himself. So much respect.

I started to notice that recently. It's sad. I agree that a lot of respect is due for still going on.
Alex Trebek's final episode will no longer air on December 25th, but on January 8th. From December 21st to January 1st, they'll air ten of Trebek's best episodes. After that, his final five episodes will air from January 4th to the 8th. The first of the guest-hosted episodes will then air on January 11th. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...224945762.html |

Katie Couric will be one of the guest hosts after Alex Trebek's final Jeopardy! tomorrow.

I saw the last recorded episode today and it was quite sad to realize it was the last one. They did a nice tribute to him at the end of the episode which was very nice. I watched most of Jeopardy! over the years with my Mom and Stepdad. It was great today to watch the last episode of Jeopardy! with Alex Trebek with my Mom today.
On a side note, I would also suggest for any fans of Alex Trebek, to go look up other game shows that he hosted throughout the years. My personal favorites besides Jeaopardy! are Classic Concentration (second version from the 1980's) and Double Dare (which I watched with my Dad).

Bill Whitaker of 60 Minutes and Mayim Bialik from Call Me Kat are two new guest hosts announced. I can't help but be interested in Mayim Bialik hosting.

My three year old was hit pretty hard by this because he likes to watch not just Jeopardy but like others have said Classic Concentration and even I think we may have watched a little bit of Double Dare so when he heard that Alex Trebek died he was really sad.

Always found Classic Concentration to be much harder than JEOPARDY! Could never make hide nor hair of what those puzzles said. Still, Alex kept it fun to watch.
Anyone ever play that Classic Concentration car bonus round flash game on the Y8 (flash player going obsolete but can still be played with Y8 browser) that allows you to name your own 8 cars? By the way, Ken does all right as host. We'll see how others go about it. Last edited by triplexxx; 01-14-2021 at 02:17 AM. |

Since he's a Jeopardy fan, I think Ken would work best compared to the upcoming ones, but I'll watch to form a better opinion.

The best part is the others are just host for a week. None of them are appealing honestly and I hope that it will be Jeopardy just covering bases before going with The GOAT after this season wraps.

Just for the record, most if not all of them may be Jeopardy fans, after all America has always been chock full of 'em. It's a way of life for civilians and celebrities alike.

Well another bummer occurrence, Alex's last big time Jeopardy champion Brayden Smith apparently passed away back on February 5, was 24.

That's sad. I still had his episodes on my DVR, and I went to watch them one last time before removing them. May he rest in peace.

That's awful. He died at such a young age, too. Just when he was getting his chance to shine ...
My thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest at peace, Brayden Smith. |

I heard about this, but didn't see anything about a cause of death. It's always shocking to hear about people so young passing.
