I think I was more perplexed at the choice of enemies in the game. Granted it had Shredder, Krang Bebop and Rocksteady; but the regular enemiws were mostly original. Then again, it was better than just facing rainbow coloured foot soldiers all the time like in the beat 'em up turtle games from that same era.

The game had a lot of good ideas on paper, but the execution could have been much better. I think if this game had been made a few years later it could have been a classic, but meh.

If the Mega Man 1 cover art didn’t confuse kids, then this one was cake.

Should've just used the original.

Of course, the Japanese version has it's own bit of confusion; since the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles weren't a thing yet in Japan, they decided to change the name. It's called Geki Kame Ninja Den. So each game after that, which were actually called TMNT, are numbered one lower. TMNT 2: The Arcade Game is simply called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Yeah, and to make it even more confusing they called the actual arcade game Super Kame Ninja and didn't number Turtles in Time.

For the record, this (the original) piece rules a lot. But is also actually somewhat misleading, haha.

edit: well, a little misleading anyway. It's fairly accurate to the issue but thinking of what comes of it later makes it feel a little weird.
Mate, that looks AWESOME!!!!

Talk about overreaction much.

Anything that's not pure Mirage is inferior and a "war crime" to you.

That piece is one of the best Turtle artworks ever. It's incredibly iconic. If I had a chance and the means to buy the original artwork for that piece against any other turtle art ever, I'd buy that.
