Pop-up Mutant Displays...Pics??
Hey guys...I know we've discussed this before but I was wondering, are there any pics out there showing what all of (or any of) the mutant displays look like out of package? I know most of us keep them in package but somebody has to have taken at least a few of these guys out...Again, there might be an old post about this that has pics but I couldnt find it. Thanx!

which sorta thing are you talking about?? The toys outside of the package? If so, i found this pic on the comp with my Donatello Turtle Troll (i had an extra, hence why i opened it)
edit: sorry, but this camera is the only one i have that has the ability to hook up onto the comp. Poor quality and bad angle, i took it myself so you can see why it sucks. |

No, there are some specific figures that came with something called a "Pop-up Mutant Display" back in '88-'89. They're generally pretty rare and must people who get them keep them sealed in package. I was looking for anybody who has taken some out of package for display. Thnx though...

I don't think myteefine would mind. The owner seems like a great guy. I bought my moc pop-up Metalhead from him. I've credited his site and put a link to the item's sale page below the picture. Here's Metalhead:

That is really cool. I have seen them time to time on ebay but I haven't seen a lot of these. Are you trying to collect all opened pop-up displays? That would be a different collection but also a very difficult one to finish. Very nice, man.

I didn't buy them to collect all the pop-ups although that would be cool. They were just a really good deal (I paid like a buck+shipping for them and a bunch of other stuff). Glad to help NoPress, by the way your post on that "out of the 4 turtles" thread had me rollin'

Here is General Traag's pop-up display
Due to a mangled package and bubble here is a picture of the pop-up mutant display stand that General Traag comes with. It reads:
General Traag's sneak attack on Raphael at Shredder's secret hide-out is about to become an over the shoulder boulder blasting battle. Will Traag give Raphael a shell smashing shock or will Raphael crack him up into groveling gravel? Last edited by NoPressApril; 02-16-2010 at 03:28 AM. |

I don't think that it happened in the mail because the box that it was shipped in was in fine condition. It was just one of those pictures on Ebay that I couldn't really tell about so I took a chance.

Here is Casey Jones pop-up display
You can see a drawing of Casey's Display on the bottom of each pop-up but here's the real deal. Casey's pop-up reads:
Casey Jones sure gave this stinky pair a bad case of athletes foot. He likes to get his vigilante point across by slam dunking evil Mutants into his golf bag. But, could there be more Foot Soldiers lurking out-of-bounds, waiting for a chance to even the score? Last edited by NoPressApril; 02-16-2010 at 03:31 AM. |

I would love a set of open figures with Pop up Displays.
I just cant pay $20-50 a figure just to open it and lose all of its value. You couldent sell a loose one for more then $10. Right now I have Casey, Donatello, Raphael opened out of poor cardbacks. I would love a chance to have those loose displays for $1 plus shipping. |

I thought that I would bump my favorite thread with a closer look at Leonardo's Pop-Up Display. The pop-up reads:
Leonardo must stomp the Foot Soldier and stop him from stealing toxic chemicals for Shredder's new secret weapon. It'll be shell to pay as Leonardo squashes Shredder's devious plot to dominate the world and its sewers. But, could this be a turtle tenderizing trap, with Leatherhead and his jaws of doom lurking nearby? Last edited by NoPressApril; 02-16-2010 at 03:32 AM. |
