Can somebody be figuratively a character designer?

Well technically your designs can be rejected or your designs could radically get altered or you could give a description of how a character should look without ever actually designing the character, but I don't think those count as figurative.

As the odd guy in the bunch, I only care for the nick-2012 series.

When the show's over I'm out.

There's two other cartoons and 3 comic series to get into (Mirage, IDW and Archie). It's not that hard to get into them if you like this series.

Ant Ward has only produced one other show besides TMNT - that being The Penguins of Madagascar.
As for Andy Suriano, he has only produced one show at all:
Plastic Man. With a whopping six episodes to it. He was also a writer for it.

And with that show clearly not going well...

Penguins of Madagascar was decent enough, I've heard, but I don't know how much that can bring us.
to be fair, Penguins was the only good thing to come out of the madagascar films.

Shut up, the first two Madagascar joints are bad and so-so, but 3 is dope. One of those rare franchises that got better as it went.

Penguins of Madagascar was probably one of the best, genuinely funny cartoons on Nickelodeon in the last decade or so.

Yeah, I always liked the penguins in those movies and the show was pretty funny to me. I think we'll be fine.

I like the style but the type of story telling would probably put off a lot of fans. A good chunk of Samurai Jack is silence and ambiance. Although if we could do this scene in any TMNT cartoon I be a happy camper.

Imagine this when Leo is trying to hide from the Foot (A part of the comic that is always left out it seems)

This what it definitely sounds like. Although, it will continue to make money for Nickelodeon. I am bummed that this rendition of TMNT is coming to an end.

They really did a great job with the stories and casting for this show. Plus, the writing was great too.

The summary says the Turtles comes across a whole bunch of mutants. Makes me wonder if they'll use all new mutants or some of the Nick-era mutants. Teen Titans Go uses all the main Teen Titan villains, so you might see something like a chibi Tiger Claw flying around in his jetpack.
