There's really only one major thing preventing me from ordering a second copy with the Bisley cover: those whacked-out bandannas. :p If Mikey, Leo, and Donny were all wearing the right colors........
I just realized the Turtle at the top with nunchuks and the purple bandanna has a big D on his belt buckle. :p So there's that, too... I also don't see a blue bandanna: just different shades of purple. :p The piece leaves me pretty confused. Oddly enough, other details like LeoDon's strap-on shell don't bother me at all; I actually think they're super-cool. Perhaps I should just accept these other discrepancies. :p

Apparently A.C. Farley did an original piece for use on this reprint, and it's not being used. :( I wonder if there are any other original pieces; I'd have preferred that to rehashes.

Strange that Fabry's piece on the 25th anniversary book is reversed. As pointed out in this thread, it's also weird that #3's cover is clearly one that ought to have been used for Raphael #1, but the issue inside is indeed #3.

agreed, even though the Biz cover isn't completely 'accurate' you gotta appreciate the guys style.

Payday, and that is the Glenn Fabry cover'd book preorederededed.
My reason being, that I already own the Corben and Bode covers, as covers to different comics, and I have the Bisley cover (which is so awesome) in Kevin's Artobiography. So, Fabry it is!

Agreed. The Fabry cover is going to be the one to get by far.

And to answer an earlier question of where the piece originates, Kevin said this in the book: "Originally conceived for a role playing game cover, the project was suspended shortly after Simon finished the cover below. It was later published as a poster and game catalog cover. I had fun working out some ideas for it, and except for some sketches I did for the fourth movie and live action TV series, it was one of the last times I worked on a turtle project."

Despite the swapped colored masks, I think the Bisley cover is my favorite. I really like how Bisley spotlighted the Turtles in the heat of an intense battle while leaving the enemy more anonymous.

That was more Eastman's doing, really, since Bisley's drawing is based on one of Eastman's sketches. Bisley's version is a lot more intense, however, partially because it's a finished piece, but also just because Bisley really knows how to do extreme action and poses in his art.

(Wish I knew what it was about the scanner I'm using that makes solid blocks of both white and red look like such garbage.) (Edit: Eh, never mind, it's Facebook compressing the images that makes 'em look kinda crummy.)

Oh, wow, this reprint, in the gallery, has a really amazing illustration I've never seen before. :) One that was drawn by Eastman and painted by Bisley. Seeing this makes me really wish they'd have collaborated this way on at least one TMNT story.
I think the date on it says '03... Relatively recent. I wonder if there could be an IDW special or something? :) A full-fledged, richly-textured, painted issue.
