Yeah, I think Fox got the rights to Uatu along with the Fantastic Four, but they're allowed to use the Watcher race

It's good that Fox and Brian Singer have demonstrated such a big willingness to make things "big" by going into space and involving aliens and stuff.

The heart was good, all of the characters were good, but the humor fell pretty flat for me. Especially the jump sequences.

But Yondu, Nebula, and Ego were amazing.

I especially liked how they did Mantis, she turned out really well. Kurt Russel gave an amazing performance, really glad he played the part he did.

Spoiler:
The cameo appearances from Howard and the Watchers were very much appreciated. I'm also interested in how they'll pull off Adam Warlock.

Spoiler:
Ah-Ha! So I'm not the only one who thinks it was him the High Priestess was creating. And yeah Howard was neat. Glad he got another cameo. And that bit with Stan and the Watchers- PRICELESS! ]

Yeah. Loved the Stan cameo this time around. Marvel HAS been known to lampshade the fact that their comics exist "in-univeres" as well from time to time. Kind of funny in light of the 4th wall stuff in Deadpool.

Nope. He was visiting them. Probably in reference to the fact that Marvel exists within the comic/movie universe as well as outside it.

Yes Yondu actually was my favorite this time. Peter is cool and all but Yondu stole the movie. And Groot. Ego was pulled off really well. You didn't like
Spoiler:
the scene in the woods with Rocket trouncing all those Ravagers with his gadgets after Peter and Gamora left for his dad's planet? That little raccoon has a vicious sense of humor!
I thought that was the funniest part of the movie. Also Groot not "getting it" when Rocket was explaining what Yondu wanted him to get....

Oh, I loved Rocket versus the Ravagers. It was the faces and eyeballs bulging as they jumped through space that pissed me off. Felt way too cartoony and at odds with the rest of the presentation.

Also, I dunno why, but most of the music didn't catch me the way the first one did.

Drax inquiring about Ego's anatomy... THAT may have been the biggest laugh in the theaters.

I dare say I liked this one better than the first one.
There was just more...story to it.

I saw it on Thursday, and I really liked. So much that I have to get a action figure representation of the team.

Hmm yeah I will agree on that one. Seemed a bit Loony Tunes.

Now funny thing, I actually loved some of the music choices. Mr Blue Sky, Brandy, Southern Nights and The Chain in particular. I bought the soundtrack the other day just because I liked it so much. I also bought the first one when it came out, and I think they are both pretty good. Granted there were some songs in the new one that I wasn't very familiar with- I think the complaints on the soundtrack come down to having songs that were more obscure.

Drax and Ego going back and forth while Peter looks on mortified.... PRICELESS!

That was a really surreal moment. For five seconds it was like watching an episode of Spongebob Squarepants.

Have fun trying to do that.
Marvel Legends collecting can get real expensive.
I mean, just for Mantis you have to buy almost an entire wave of figures!

You are right those figures run 17-20 bucks depending where you buy them. I miss the old days when toys weren't so expensive.

Oh, it's gonna be expensive anyway for me. the local TRU haven't updated their ML selection since the Odin wave, with some Ult. Goblin and 1 Wasp from AoU wave, and they usually cost 500NOK which is about $59. So I have to get them through online stores or ebay.

Hopefully we won't get another Jubilee wave fiasco and I might get them for a decent price

My suspicions were still technically correct though.

Would have been funny if somehow Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone shared a scene due to Tango and Cash. Watching this movie makes me realize all the old music and old actor references would go completely over kids heads. What kids of today would know who David Hassellhoff is?

Early concept art for Ego showed that he could've been J'Son, if Marvel didn't get the rights to Ego the living planet.

Ego was never going to be J'Son. They had stuff labeled on set during filming as J'Son as a joke.
