This is as far as it ever got. A toy with one line of animation before getting an appearance in Nick as a space genie. I know he has an odd appearance, but a space genie? So 1 toy, 1 cartoon appearance (Nick) 2 appearances in Archies Adventures #10 and #51. When Forever War is printed it will be 3.

"SQUIK."
Is it just me, or does the dialogue for Michelangelo feel a little off so far? But Wyrm, at least, looks very interesting and intimidating so far.

I thought about it a little more.
Internal monologuing is something we haven't seen much of before in TMNT IDW, plus it's so exposition heavy. I think THAT'S why Mikey feels off to me. I think I know how this issue will end regarding Wyrm's fate... curious to see if I'll be right.

art in this kind of reminds me of 90s Nickelodeon... which is actually a perfect fit.

Weird they're using another police officer lady instead of Kara Lewis who actually knows Michelangelo.

IDW has proven it can put out superior quality to Nickelodeon and get multiple successful team ups with DC Comics. I do believe it is possible due to that.
Ah! Real Monsters meets Robot Chicken in comic form.

Issue looks promising. Can't wait to see what the team at IDW decide to do with Wrm. Only wish we could get some non-turtle stories soon, so we can see some other cast members get some time to shine.

I wonder though, what is Wyrm's origin? With a few exceptions, most of the mutants so far have been lab experiments and not accidents, so where did Wyrm come from? Stockgen? NULL? Lindsey?

Basically everyone has narrated/internally monologued their respective micro, but Waltz almost never employs it in the ongoing. Then Hob had some in TMNTU #5.

My theory is that Hob had worms, and they mutated from drinking his blood to become Wyrm. Just kidding

Oh, that's right... that was a LONG time ago, no wonder I don't remember it.

Well damn! That was a significant departure from what we've seen before, stylistically speaking. But it was awesome all the same! Kudos to
I really enjoyed the art, it reminded me of some old school Nickelodeon cartoon but I can't think of what. The writing, while noticeably different, was still good and it fit very nicely with this story. I didn't expect to find commentary on the psychological issue of hoarding behavior, but it was pretty well done. The back-up story was really good too, so shout out to everyone, Pitarra, Lees, Sobreiro, and Revel, top-notch work. I would love to hear about the inspiration behind both of these stories if any of the creative team has any insight they wish to offer. TMNTU is most definitely proving its worth as a companion series to the main ongoing title and I will most definitely continue to go along for the ride. (if you need some letters Bobby, this is fit to print)

i very much enjoyed the main story, both story and art.
but the back-up story really blew me away. i like how Jennika is being fleshed out as a character little by little. seeing a glimpse of her background really sold it for me. i also love how she so fully embraced her new life as a ninja that she actually researched the origin of Ninjutsu. that i found particularly cool!!
