What happened to double mutation?

Remember when Dogpund double mutated? Did anything else like that ever happen? The closest I can think of is that Creep and Snakeweed fused, as well as the Shredder clones but that isn't really the same thing.

Is there any reason it never happened again?

Because it never happened again? I mean, what did you expect? Everyone to get double mutated or something?

I guess it didn't become a priority since the double mutation don't seem all that powerful all things considered. Bradford just got a body more suited for his combat skills.

Weird it didn't really happen again. Would've thought that would've been something they could use to sell more of their mediocre toys.

The op is just asking why the writers never used double mutations hes not saying that everyone should get double mutated, seriously why you always have to exaggerate things to the fullest extreme.

On topic, its actually a bit of a shame that we never saw double mutation again, we could've got some neat designs here and there.

.
Of course that's what's being insinuated. By saying, "What happened to double mutation?" he's curious why it never happened again. Giving you the impression that people expected or thought to see another double mutation.

There was a minute where it seemed like it was going to be a thing.

The staff basically confirmed that double mutation was just a means to an end to get Bradford to be the character that they wanted him to be, so I'm thinking a similar situation just never really presented itself to justify it in future episodes.

In case I really have to clarify this, even if I thought I was being clear, here you go:

Dogpound mutated into Rahzar in episode 31, it's been 77 episodes since and there's only 16 episodes left. They literally never took a crack at this concept ever again and don't seem like they will.

For a show like this, that's a rather strange thing to do. Ever watched Beast Wars, Digimon or any other show where a character can obtain a new form? That (depending on the motive) can either be used to keep the show fresh or sell more merch, without the need to clutter the show with new characters at the expense of older ones.

For example, these are all the same character, in the same continuity:

So bringing such a concept up and never trying it again is... Odd...

OK... It was just a do over? Almost seems weirder somehow...
