I expect Hob to be the new main villain, and the next few issues to be a "monster of the day" breather series, as we get settled with the new status quo.

Or Mutant of the Day rather.

Nick, too, now that its over. Maybe even stuff like 2k3.

But Id kinda prefer more new characters amongst these new daily foes.

This reminds me, I wonder if the day when all those New Yorkers were mutated will get an in-universe nickname?

I finally got a chance to read the issue. The art is fricking stunning. I am not a comic book artist but this level of awesome looks hard to keep up, month per month. Sally Pride is pretty hot.

The dialogue is indeed lacking in subtlety but less so than last issue, with all the exposition. And I do love the character development.

Does anyone know which Turtle is Campbell's favourite? Right now it seems like either Don or Raph. The worst is when you can obviously tell which fortunately isn't the case yet. I am face palming super hard at Mike and Leo's behaviour and don't like that that is how they are being written. I mean how much of a petty child can Mikey be--can't he at least give a half hearted hello to Don, depression or no? I get that Raph is no better in terms of communication with his brothers but at least he is doing something with his time.

Anyway, 8/10 for me, I do like where the story is going and I love the art and character development, although it's not exactly how I would have developed some of these characters.

Looking forward to the weasels. They are too cute to stay evil.

My one complaint about the issue was I could not tell who was Leo and who was Mike in the brief scene of the three of them sitting at the table together because one Turtle appeared to be wearing the other's color.

Whenever I see a writer commenting in a thread in which I had previously criticized their work, I get a very strong urge to go back and edit all of my comments to sound less mean.

Why? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, within certain limits. Don't mistake honest criticisms for gratuitous badmouthing. Not to mention it's a worse look, IMHO, when people notice someone has edited out things for fear they might not like them. That's dishonest. Authors - and everyone else - are professional adults. They don't need coddling. (I have a sneaking suspicion this is partly why we'll never get an ending to A Song of Ice and Fire...)

That's partly why I usually avoid posting here, you guys shouldn't feel stymied by the presence of creators, people need a space to be honest about the work and that isn't influenced, overshadowed, or "tainted" by the authors.

But on the other hand sometimes it's fun to butt in.

Oh hi! I was hoping you'd come back, I have some questions about Diamond. I actually like her quite a bit, impulsive loose canon in the mutanimals makes for a decent bit of dynamic.

Anyway, what species of porcupine is she? She mostly seems to resemble a North American Porcupine but the color and spike thickness seems to imply a South American species.
