I greatly mind spoilers too. I'd have complained sooner, but my internet was dodgy at best during the weekend.

As for that new guy as the Doctor. I think he could be great, seriously, might even surpass Tennant who pretty much redefined the Doctor for the "new" show. However, he does have big shoes to fill.

i doubt he'll surpass any of the previous Doctors, cept maybe nine, who had the shortest stint. but time will tell, it's too early to judge.

and regarding the use of "spoilers" in this thread, why don't we just not post them, since everyone seems to be getting pissy over it. best way to avoid issues

Eccelston is an iconic actor who topped several of the previous Doctor actors, Pertwee and Hartnell in particular, in ONE season.
