Really what I think is hurt those sales numbers is simply the price. $20 for a reprint of 4-5 issues that are over 20 years old is a little steep. I'll keep picking them up, most of my old Archie issues are pretty banged up and I like the collected editions sitting on the shelf, but I can see why the price would discourage others. You can find VF-NM copies of the original issues for less than the trades collecting them.
Hopefully IDW keeps cranking them out like you said. I really hope we get to see all of them collected and then have IDW move onto collecting & reprinting some nice Hardcovers of the 90s TMNT newspaper comic strip.

It's not so much the age as the quantity, $20 is just too much for 4 issues. That's $5 an issue! Double it to 8 issues for $20 and that's a much better deal. Or maybe increase to 6 issues and bring the price down to $15.
The issue count really needs to increase or it'll take forever to reach arcs like Future Tense. |

I hope they can get up to the 20,000 range does anyone know what the lowest selling issue (regular main story issue)? |

I believe the lowest selling issues were the Infestation specials, or the Fugitoid micro.

I believe its doing better than Volume 4/Tales and Image did. Probably not as much as Volume 1, 2, or Archie, but I don't know for certain.

This brings up a good point. I never have been able to find a sales chart for TMNT Adventures. I am sure it was the best selling Ninja Turtles comic but would like to know a ballpark figure of sales it might.

While this is just speculation at this point, I predict that #22 will be in the range of 25-30K copies. It's a big issue story-wise but, in addition, the 1:100 RI B Eastman sketch variant should be responsible for a major spike. I personally bought 400 copies of #22 and I know of at least 4 other people that bought 100 or more copies. I'll be curious to see how all that shakes out in the final sales numbers.

Theoretically, yes. But, in actuality, likely not. Those with normal subscriptions to TMNT at their local shop won't likely buy from me. Then, only those that usually buy their copies on eBay might buy from me. Plus, the store or person they might usually buy from online or on eBay will be expecting the same (or more) buyers as in the past so they'll buy the same amount of copies (if not more) they think they'll need.

Yes, but all sellers had to get them from the pre-order anyway (either they are a shop owner or they order through an authorized shop like I did). You can't just go to Diamond and order comics if your'e not an authorized retailer.

I have an idea.
Funny that #21 sold so much and it was by far the weakest issue of the whole run. I hope it didn't turn many people off. |

Issue 21 only sold 4,000 more because of Eastman. Maybe they show have him draw more issues.
