Unfortunately, because the demand for this stuff is so high, NECA won't lose any sleep over it even if they do lose a few customers. But I think this was, for me, the final straw with NECA. They make cool stuff but the constant aggravation and poor communication is unprofessional and I don't want to reward it anymore.

Sounds like the TMNT set was available but only if one purchased the complete "Action Figure pack" with one of everything in the SDCC pre-sale special.

Reminds me of what Toys R Us and Gamestop used to do when new video game consoles launch: offer them only as bundles with games in low-demand, needless extra accessories, protection plans, etc.

Yep, very "Think Geek" too. They really spammed those NES Classics with some other expensive junk and still sold out!

I’m kind of glad that the tattered version will stick to being an exclusive. I don’t think they will re-release him later on. I wanted two Splinters anyway plus the quarter scale. One will stay chained up to his wall and the other I want to find a chair for.

Mine'll be going atop the roof of the diorama display with Shredder and Leo.

I'd still be keen on an individual release, but figure the deco will be the same, just the chains and stuff you won't get. Where are people getting the idea the individual release won't have a tattered robe? Did I miss an announcement (likely)?

It should be-- but last year they sat around on their asses for nearly a week before shipping most of the sets.

yeah and they kept changing their story like "ship the week after SDCC" then after all the Twitter comments they said "first week of August" and they didnt even make that estimate

SHIPPING DETAILS: Pre-orders will be shipped to U.S. addresses ONLY. Shipping begins a week after SDCC but due to the volume of orders, some orders may not ship until mid-August.

I'm guessing they are in order placed. So not expecting my last day order for a while.
