RIP M Emmet Walsh

Big burly veteran actor M Emmet Walsh, played in many roles over the years, including a lot of sinister characters, has passed at 88. Credits include Ordinary People, Blood Simple, Fletch, Blade Runner, The Jerk, Starsky & Hutch, Serpico, Slap Shot, The Jimmy Stewart Show, The Don Rickles Show, Bonanza, The Twilight Zone, Back To School, Raising Arizona, Cops and Robbersons, Home Improvement, Romeo + Juliet, The X-Files, The Iron Giant, and many more, saw him all over. Rest well, M Emmet Walsh.

That's a real shame. He was an 80's mini-icon.

I will always remember him from Home Improvement as Jill's Father Colonel Patterson

It's too bad, but 88 (2 days from turning 89) is a good run. I only remember him from 2 episodes of Home Improvement; Snow Dogs and Christmas With The Kranks.

The man was a film fixture of my childhood. It was as if he was in everything I watched. Great character actor. May he rest in peace.

According to credits and IMDb, he played on Escape From The Planet Of The Apes back in 1971, but because he was a lot younger than I've seen him as, I could never find him in the movie. If anyone knows where he was at in Escape From The Planet Of The Apes, please show a picture?
