TMNT OS Music- idea..

how come no artist has ever tracked down the original D-50 synthesizer used on the show and tried to re create the music that way?

I don't know how the suckers work, but I'm assuming that the show upgraded it's software sound each year, and that's how the music' evolved'. it shouldn't be that hard to duplicate the sound...

at least once you figure out the proper settings and pitch.

Good news for you is that you're now speaking to a part-time musician who had downloaded this VST shortly after it first came out! For that matter, I had even made a popular script to import sounds for some of their other products!

Bad news: I'm not certain if I will put in the effort of recreating it, personally. Even if copyright wasn't a real thing, I just never was as wild about this show as I am about the 2003/4Kids series, not to mention I'm pretty sure the score wouldn't have been done entirely on this synthesizer (the synthesizer doesn't have any drum samples, for instance).

Still, good to know I'm not the only music geek here, and hopefully someone will be up for your idea, whether or not it's me.

so, I was looking up info..

is this thing a purley virtual software plugin, or do you have to have a real machine to work it on?

https://youtu.be/5qeJaXMNvM8

9:50 sounds EXACTLY like the opening to 'Green With Jealousy' when the technodrome is shown.

If you?re referring to the RolandCloud product, then it is purely software. Course, hardware would be recommended for performance purposes.

even though i know nothing about creating music, and it is expensive, it might be fun to download and mess around with. at the very least, I'll have the technodrome sweet loop c demo

here's a question..if I got something like this, would I ba able to upload the D-50 plug in and essentially have a new old unit?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...d-b31d6b1bfbee

don't know how to play, but would be fun to mess around with.

So.... let's go over what we know so far.

1. We've determined that the Technodrome "theme" is just a goofy looped sample from Roland D50 keyboards.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZSt...channel=Clivey

The sample in question is called "Sweet Loop on C" The Technodrome theme uses the first 3 seconds.

2. A guy called Andres has some recreations on YouTube that are pretty damn decent. WAIT IT WAS POWDER NOT ANDRES... SCREW THAT GUY.

3. There's a few recreations of the Battle Theme on YouTube, but the audio is merely patched together from various episodes. One of my friends who has a good ear for music says that the brass part is based around the note of G (possibly G5) and is pitch shifted a bit, but we're not sure what Roland voice they used.

She also says that the percussive sample(s) used a fairly standard 80's one that is nothing remarkable, it could probably be recreated with some reverb.

4. The "Trans-Dimensional Turtles" episode of TMNT 2012 reused the "Hustle" theme and the "Battle Theme" from the Fred Wolf Films series, so someone who worked on TMNT had access to sheet music or had a decent ear to be able to recreate the music from the 1987 series.

5. The Channel 6 theme was faithfully recreated in the Konami games, so a MIDI file must exist somewhere.

Those are mine & that piece of sh*t won't credit me. I need to do a DMCA or whatever but Youtube makes you jump through so many hoops. I'm glad you like them, though. They can be streamed/downloaded for free at the link below, which is where new tracks will be added when time allows.

Good job. Why don't you put them up on Youtube yourself?

It is modified and simplified a little though. they took out some of the background elements and kept it to just the two loops. the first 5 second or so sound was modified, and that leads in to the second loop of 30 seconds.

I think we found the setting used for Bebop and Rocksteady's theme. it's just a little lower than this.

And here is the setting for the start of 'Casey Jones, Outlaw Hero'.

Yeah, might just be a little bit pitch shifted.

I'm pretty sure they used the mallet horns voice at 5:14 in some capacity, as well.

just for ha ha's I FINALLY managed to get the D-50 purchsed virtually and loaded onto my machine. messing around with it, I accidentally found one of the pre configured themes. 'stop whining shredder, remember, the show must go on'....that circusy sounding musing in the background of 'back to the egg' is really just a small section found in one of the tracks notes...they must have isolated it somehow.

So, what we've got here is the original theme songs sheet music.
we have access to the original D-50 instrument.
How hard would it be to reproduce this?

https://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusi...saAt7LEALw_wcB
can't find any of the other songs.
