IDW has just reissued the Image Comicbook series.

I bought the first omnibus of the series and it is awesome.

So what is you guys' opinion on that series?

I mean they’ve been releasing the single issues of the series for almost 2 years now.

Not a very good series I'd say.

"Omnibus" as far as I know is the word used to describe a collection of works in a single extra large book.

Care to tell me why it should be anything digitally?

This. More interested in building a nice run of the original monthlies than in reading them. Those books were very low print run and don't often leave collections.

Although I'd be interested in a single, hardcover Omnibus of the series. I like the accessibility of the Omnibus and I would read them in that format. Another reason why I'd love a two Omnibus Archie run as well.

Wait. Where did you find that "Omnibus" ?
The only thing IDW released was a TPB with issues 1-13 and the final Volume is for November with issues 14-26.

In my book, an Omnibus has at least 30 issues and is usually an Hardcover... unless the publisher release a TPB with the word Omnibus on it for some reason.

I'm making a big deal of it because I really want a big Hardcover with the 26 issues in it. But it's not out. And it may never be. Sadly.

Agreed completely. This is the nature of what I was saying above as well.....

I haven't even ever seen an omnibus that's a hardcover. Everything from the massive Aliens and Predator omnibuses at Dark Horse, to the Freak Brothers omnibus were all trade paperback. Even giant collected books like "The Return of Superman" that wasn't called an omnibus but must have collected like 30 comics... trade paperback, as well.

All of the Marvel and DC Omnibus are trade cloth (e.g. "hardcover"). I have plenty of Dark Horse hard covers as well, but my only experience with independent omnibus are the Indiana Jones from Dark Horse, but those were softcover.

-edit- Now I'm guessing that your intended description for the "haven't even seen" part was maybe intended to describe IDW? Rather than industry-wide?

I think the softcover with the words "Omnibus" on them are named like that just for marketing.

Like selling a Television with the words "4K" on it, with a resolution below 3840.

Nah, I just mean me personally, my casual perusion of collected books over the years. But I don't really shop around for hardback stuff, so I wouldn't ever have been looking for it.

Well I never saw those big books in stores where I live. I see them on amazon and they are kinda expensive.
It's impressive when you see someone's gigantic collection of Omnibus when you know the price.

I tend to order mine through DCBS or Instocktrades when I can. Might have a cover price of $125 each, but that translates into $50 average when ordered through an outlet like one of those.

Cool collection you got there!
Since I live in Canada, those Omnibus are way too expensive with the shipping, for me.
(But I kinda want that Batman '66)

Thank you!
Does Instocktrades shipping to Canada dramatically impact the pricing? I wouldn't know, but if you haven't checked out In Stock Trades give them a run through their checkout system just to verify?

I wonder. They have enough TPB to do it.
The first Omnibus contain the TPB 1-4.
There is still 5-8 TPB Tales.
But they even stopped releasing those TPB too.

I can understand sales being a problem but if they planned to release omnibus of what's already been printed they should be sticking to that plan.
