Well... In the case of Miles potentially becoming "Spy-D", I can play devil's advocate and point out that Scarlet Spider, Black Spider, Tarantula, Spider Slayer, Venom, Anansi, Spinner, Blood Spider Spider, Aracnido, Iron Spider, Ghost-Spider, Spider-Boy, Spider Hero, Spiderling, Spider-Kid, Spider-X, Steel Spider, Web-Man, Webslinger, Wolf Spider, Bone-Spider, Stealth Spider, Spider-Sting, Slinger and probably a few others are already taken. If most of the logical names already apply to other characters, of course you'll come up with some horseshit.

Interesting 'scoop' from BC today regarding a proposed buy out from a collective of millionaire enthusiasts who want to purchase the rights to the publishing side of DC. Warner and AT&T would still control television, animation, movies and merchandise.

A lot of what I heard in 2020 fits this narrative. Last year some sites and Youtubers with 'sources' had claimed DC being put up for sale had been 'discussed' and the company as we knew it would close up shop this summer. According to Rich, this collaboration met with Warner/AT&T in 2020 (doesn't specify when), and now he's hearing their preparing their pitch.

OK, I've read the full first issue of Phillip Kennedy Johnson's regular stint on Superman...and it's actually pretty good. A step above Bendis (well, it'd pretty much have to be)

You really get the feeling Jon is a kid in an adult's body. He reacts more emotionally to the gravitas of becoming Superman inevitably at the cost of his father, he's concerned and worried for what will happen to Supes. Lois doesn't have any lines but the art does a great job of conveying to the reader that she's worried about Jon as a mother would be. It was great seeing the Super Family living all together again...and Jon still watches cartoons.

Johnson says he won't de-age Jon, but you can tell he's planting some seeds here for such a possibility.

They should have taken this new relaunch opportunity to make Jon Kent a kid again because what Bendis did to him is absolutely disgusting. I dropped all Superman books because of him, but I was adoring the "superfamily" period before that, with super sons and all. You don't just take a popular character and age them up 7 years because Bendis didn't feel like writing a kid. We already had a teen superboy he could use instead, now we have two of them. It removed variety and some of the heart from the superman titles.

Literally right away the first thing Bendis does is have Jon Kent **** off after he takes over the book, and when he comes back he's an entirely different character. Get ****ed Bendis. Characters are allowed to change and grow, but not in this way. It was a lazy shortcut, just the latest in his long career of lazy shortcuts.

DC and Marvel, stop hiring Bendis. Just stop. Let him do his creator owned stuff and leave him be. There are so many great options out there to write your books. He's not a visionary, he's trash and readers are repulsed by him. Whatever small bump in sales you might get by his name being on the cover will be greatly diminished by the harm he does to the legacy of the title.

In fact, as relaunches go, this is the most weaksauce relaunch they have ever done in terms of using the opportunity to implement needed changes.

In the first Infinite Frontier issue of the Nightwing ongoing (#7 among the events Dick took in a stray puppy who was being attacked by three teenagers. DC gave four choices for fans to pick from. The catch is that you have to have an account on the dccomics.com website. I was on the DC Message Boards back when it was available but whatever this social media format is I would have to re-register and I am not going to do that just to votevon this. Still of the given choices Haley fits the best.

On top of that, King's pretty much demonstrating that without Bruce as a calming influence, Selina is full-on evil and killing all of her crime rivals in Gotham.

That doesn't surprise me at all, given King's other "contributions" to Batman.

The single dumbest thing is The Riddler wanting to make Joker laugh so he murders the son of Joker's mechanic to manipulate him into becoming a joke villain who would defeat The Riddler in trying to take control of the underworld. Talk about a stretch! Why would Eddie want to make The Joker laugh anyway?

Renee Montoya is police commissioner? I thought it was James Gordon? I know Bullock was holding it during the Batman Who Laughs attack about a year ago, but didn't think he lost his position for good and even so it was Block not Monotoya.

The new Mayor instated Renee. Frankly, it's all a bit dumb having her in charge of anti-vigilante policies at the GPD when she is one herself and worse is her going along with it. Put me right off reading the Batman books.
