Does "Jessica Jones" live up to the comic it's based on?

So I just finished reading the original Alias comic series. I know it was adapted into a Netflix show called Jessica Jones.

Given that a big part of the storytelling involves characters that aren't really in the MCU, how does the TV show handle this? Is there anything new and interesting to be seen within it or should I just quit while I am ahead?

Watch it. It is, for my money, the best TV show to adapt a comic book character.

I loved Alias as a comic series. It's probably one of the best things I've read out of Marvel in a while.

I really do enjoy the Jessica Jones television show. It gets the spirit and the conflict from the comic, and presents those themes really well. It's one of the best representations of post-traumatic stress disorder that I've seen, and it handles assault probably better than a lot of stuff I've seen on.

That said I prefer the comic book to the TV show.
I think you should give it a try

If the comic is boring with awful fight scenes, sure.

ya I also thought JJ was the most boring of the Marvel Shows so far. Only watched it for David Tennant and Mike Colter's Luke Cage

I really liked Jessica Jones but it is only above Defenders in my book. And I place Defenders at the bottom.

I enjoy Jessica Jones very much, it's top there with The Punisher imo. Never read the comics, I think I'll stick with the tv series only for now.
