Heh... "News Hen."

It's really great to see a premium April O'Neil action figure and I commend DreamEx for the labor, but it's just not quite accurate enough to any particular continuity to distinguish it from any number of Marvel Legends based customs I've seen online. Including the white shirt underneath the jumpsuit seems a little strange. But most of all the head sculpt just seems too generic and bland. For the predictable DreamEx price point of $200+, I'm afraid this is a pass for me. Plus, the fact that I don't own any other figures in the line. Casey Jones has been my favorite of their creations.

Somewhat resembles Kathy Griffin imo. Could be the nose or maybe the eyes. Not certain.

You know you've ruined this figure for me now? Everytime I look at it now I can't not see Kathy Griffin.

Was not my intent to ruin the figure for anyone. The resemblance is strongest in the photo with the turtles, the one with her hand on Raph and head tilted slightly downwards. I'm just saying this might be a good starting point for someone looking to make a Kathy Griffin custom.

Or all 3...

I agree about DreamEx. I wasnt expecting much from them based off Casey since I never figured they would take the line this far, but Shredder was awesome, and I guess the turtles did ok. I am excited for them to try BB/RS

I'm someone who would love April from Bandai or an updated one from NECA, but this one feels more "meh" to me. Maybe it's the whole getting captured thing that make me not want her, it's a bit silly. Yes I know it happens to her a bunch of times, particularly in games. But for promo shots for a figure it comes of as a bit outdated.

I guess she's nice for those who want a 1/6 scale April. Even though I love that scale I have so far not had any interest in this line. Except maybe Raph, he looks cool.

WOW... i'm in shock.

Edit: Okay over the shock. My opinion (for what it's worth) is that this figure represents what Megan Fox would have looked like had her beauty been natural and not manufactured. At least, that's what I see. The eyes are definitely hers. It's clearly a combination of Megan and the OT April. I am in love with this figure. As much as I want to though, I do not see Judith anywhere in it and I've obsessively studied her for years. I do have three complaints though: her hair color, the laces on the boots, and that white shirt (should have been yellow) but I will definitely buy it. It's so good to see an adult April in a yellow jumpsuit again.

Wuuut? First thoughts:
Hooray, finally, a ballpoint pen!
Uhh why is her communicator completely different from the turtles'?
And....uhh...gagged alternate head maybe not in the best modern western market tastes there, DreamEx...you do realize we could add the bandage ourselves if we felt like a damsel scene??
And also...does this mean I need inarticulate Krang too to keep the set together?

Cause it's based off April's Turtlecom in the FW show.

Good call, forgot she had a different style (sometimes? always?)... Don't get me wrong, nice to have variety...surprised they'd go to the trouble of something different when they could re-use and get away with it.

I'll confess, I had forgotten DreamEx figures are officially licensed. I was thinking they were more along the lines of First Goken. So now I'm confused when all the promotional stills don't seem to identify the figure as "April O'Neil," but go with the "Newshen" designation. Do they even print her name on the press pass?

And the Krang's Android is designated as "Cerebral?"

The license has expired. They can longer release them as officially licensed, hence Cerebral and Newshen.

Also, the price for Cerebral is $208. Pretty steep considering he's got less articulation than a $20 Jakks Big Fig, but I'm in for the whole set so I'm now $208 poorer.

Woah, I've never heard of losing a license then releasing planned figures under generic names, while still using the official figures in publicity stills. How does somebody not get sued over this?

It's all handled in China, not worth the effort.

I suppose so. Surprised Viacom entered into the deal with DreamEx in the first place. Must have been a deal so enticing they couldn't refuse!

Agree-would love to see their take on a Splinter or BB/RS. They arent showing signs of being shy about unique molds.

That's a wonderful April figure! This line is progressing nicely.

But that gagged head might have been too much. O.O
