The D&D night went successful, no one died
We spent most of the session making characters, I was the only one who had a character ready as one was a first time player and the two others gave only played one short game before. We ended up with Eladrin Wizard (me), Eladrin Rogue, Drow Druid and Goliath Cleric. Funnily, the guy who plays the cleric was the Tiefling Warlock in the previous game who tried to be more of a stabby shabby rogue then using magic at all, and now as a life domain cleric who's the party tank went away from the enemy and stayed behind my super squishy wizard that got beat up real good. We only had one encounter. 1 living armor, who was made out of plate armor so we struggled to hit it as most of our attacks was on AC and the DM rolls like a god with his dice, he rolls open so we can see his dice and the first attack he did, the first attack roll whole game was a critical hit. I rolled like crap whole game the best attack roll I had was a 17 (plate armor is 1, so I ended spending my spells with magic missile. Still a fun game, and we resume it next week's Saturday. |

3.5? Or 4th or 5th ed? We use a 3.5/Pathfinder mix.

Cool. I did some Beta testing for it- liked what I saw. It had a lot of 2nd ed feel to it.
What kind of adventure you guys running? A pre-made module or homemade? What setting?

I was with the D&D NEXT playtest too, it had a few things I miss from the final product. Like how Paladins worked in Next
We just got off a homemade game so now we're playing the Curse of Strahd campaign book, I really loved the original Ravenloft module before the setting was made and the Dark Powers stuff was added so I hope it got the feel of the original when we get into more Strahd shenanigans. |

Bought the black furry rug I kinda fell in love with at work. God knows what I'll do with the thing or when, but someday...
Also, at my managers discretion, I was able to get that poor abused pillow buddies plush Donnie for 60 cents. Now maybe I can try to fix the poor guy up myself. Otherwise he may have just ended up being tossed out. But he can be a little project instead. |

I figured out what went wrong on my first attempt to make a 2003 Utrom plush, and it's going well.
Since red felt is all I have, of course it'll end up being Ch'rell

Oooh Strahd!! There is a name that brings back memories. And another- Lord Soth from Dragonlance. Neber used Strahd in an actual game, but I loved the novel about him. Soth, too. Though we HAVE used HIM in-game once or twice. Both are a b***h to face.
Our current adbenture deals with a bunch of Duergar bandits (deep/dark dwarves) raiding trade caravans in order to start a war between the dwarves and a neighboring human kingdom. They blasted through the Duergar outpost faster than I thought possible.

SNOW DAY!
And a productive snow day at that. I've got my Christmas Lasagna defrosting, the bathroom is almost entirely clean, and my first load of laundry is in the wash.

Learned something interesting from a co-worker... Too bad it won't last for more than a few paychecks, as it appears that they had increased our pay rate last month.
They froze any chance of raises years ago, well before I ever showed up so I've never gotten a raise, so that's at least nice to end with at least a little more money on top of the unlimited hours. Quote:
One of these days I will get to it. edit: Was a few days ago, but found this old pic of the store I work at back in/around 1963 when it was still new... Spoiler:
VS. an image from a Google Street View car last summer: Spoiler:
Kind of hard to imagine it's the same building, a lot has changed, but I can see hints of it in there. Last edited by IndigoErth; 03-18-2018 at 07:41 PM. |

Nice productive day, got some things done that were badly needed, and yesterday's game was a success! As befits the time of year, I had a St. Patty's day theme. Among the nasties up to bat, I included petty fairies (Stingers), Quicklings, and a Nucklavee! There were some Redcaps planned, as well, but they ended up not gwtting used. Oddly enough, the Nucklavee have them more problems than the Dragon a couple of weeks ago! And now they are in Ironhold, the dwarven city I usually use for mountain/dungeon delving adventures. I will be using the dwarven "dollmaker" adventure next (it's creepy- the dollmaker runs an orphanage, and enchants the dolls to kill the parents of kids so she can take them in, and later find "new homes" for them- with slave traders....), along with a disguised dragon needing help dealing with his mother.....

Now that my Ch'rell plush project has gone magnificently, I'm going to test out a Leatherhead for myself to see how it works.
Then make another one for DisKosh, since she's such a big fan.

Customers... for a laugh.
A secondhand story told to me. While liquidating, our store is also selling the fixtures. A lady was asking one of our people about the quads (aka the usual four-armed clothing racks that make up much of the floor in many/most clothing stores). Like this one, but ours have more holes up each side and tend to have wheels. Spoiler:
She asked how you use it and was told that you just push the button in (from a hole) and you can pull the bar up/out to adjust the height of the arm, letting the button pop back out a hole to set in place. Then she asked, "Well how do you know which hole to put it in?" Just pick one?? Adjust them all to the same height you want?? I fear for the fact that she probably was allowed to drive to our store... If you can't operate a clothing rack, you have no business even driving! Second story... It was either another women or the same one, as she possibly matched the description of the woman in the previous story, but either she or someone else was later grilling people over the mannequins. (First me - which I do not handle these sales and kept trying to inform her of where she needed to go to speak to someone about them.) The majority of the mannequins are the plastic headless sort. She asked "What about the heads?" Apparently, because hats. As if she thought they were supposed to come with heads, even though there is, to any even just moderately smarter, somewhat more observant person, clearly no way to attach one! My god. While it is in one way funny, people that are THAT lacking in awareness and the most basic attention to detail are so irritating. Then there was the other girl who was certain that she needed a manger specifically to walk around with her while she look at fixtures, give her prices on demand, expecting I believe to try to get discounts, all while she speaks to her husband on the phone as if they thought they were some kind of special VIP buyers of old retail fixtures. |

This was a couple of days ago, but we found out that our daughter's adoptive family is coming down to visit in April. They are going to a relative's wedding, and they are going to come see us while they are down here. And I recently ordered a belly-dancing outfit online, in hopes of learning some dance moves, for when she gets here. Want to do a mother-daughter duet when she visits- she is in dance classes, and also dances in competitions. Can't wait!

That's awesome, Duckie !
I got to hang out with a new friend today. She has a big house and a large backyard, so she had goats, chickens, and ducks I could meet. So of course I got to hold the chickens ! At least two of the three, one of them wasn't into it.

D&D night was a success as no one died
And the SH Figuarts Bodychan black version action figure came in the mail today so I could finally make my Karai "custom", had to do some fixing to attach Karai's head to the body and I gave her some red gloved hands from a Figma figure. |

I finally beat an area of a game I was having trouble on.
And now I'm pretty sufficiently close to the end of the game. ...Now I need to get the freaking minecart on the right track
