How should the Turtles look?

What's the best design? Or the best redesign you've ever saw?

I?d say the look from the red sky seasons in the mid 90s are the best in my opinion.

Defined muscles and blank eyes. I really don't like the tendency to detail their eyes, you usually don't detail Batman's eyes for a reason, nor should you do it with the turtles.

Movie Live action: First movie style. Just cgi it and make it look modern without too drastic changes.

IDW turtles looks great if they want animation style tv series.

A little like either comic or 1990 movie.

Like this. Give or take the bandanna colours or Don having a thick single strap for his bo but nothing else if really necessary.

Well, the image I always think of when it comes to the TMNT or any of the other characters are those that featured in the main body of the volume one Mirage comics (even the live action film used those as a starting point).
Naturally, the look changed over time but several issues in we started to see what became the 'consistent' and iconic look. And that's, basically, how I'd always love to see them, albeit with a few variations here and there but, ultimately, always coming back to that canon-look.

I'll admit I have a soft-spot for the look in the very first issue which, whilst rather physically clumsy, has a unique charm that I would love to see in a future live-action film - albeit as an early mutation look which then evolves into the more regular Mirage appearance e.g. perhaps, the issue #1 look is a pre-teen (i.e. flashback) image.

I like the idea of the bandana adding in the pupil-less look, but give them pupils when they're not wearing them.

Mirage City at War look is best to be honest.

When it comes to the whole bandanna no pupils thing I prefer how they did it in the 2012 series where they have pupils most of time. But when they get serious they don't have pupils. So that way it's a visual showing of them getting serious without telling us.

This thread is summoning me so hard right now.

As far as looks, Mirage City At War is best. The first 11 Eastman/Laird issues too.

IDW has done interesting things BUT they feel the need to go off model or do their own interpretations away from the E&L look, far too often. There are some standouts: Sophie, Mateus, Duncan, Ken Garing et.

But Mirage and 1990 movie look the best.

1987 Turtles design is best in my opinion, although it would've been cooler if they all had different colours like the toys.

I don't mind all four of them having the exact same design though since they are a perfect blend of grounded and cartoony.
