NECA Movie TMNT figures going to add Tatsu and Keno?
Not the greatest likenesses, but interesting.

I'm sure those are custom figures.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Keno added eventually, but my understanding is that Toshishiro Obata is quite elusive in terms of obtaining a likeness license.

The more I looked at it the more wondered just that.
At first I thought it was a NESA display at a convention or trade show.

That’s weird. Nick was able to use Tatsu.

Well, there is an update since last week! There's no confirmation from NECA yet, but Tatsu's (Oshishiro Obata's) son confirmed that permission has been given by Oshishiro and his family. And they are in the process of collecting many photos for the right look, colors and clothing. So pre-production has started.
Maybe they'll made a nice deluxe pack with a 1990 and a SotO Tatsu! Last edited by Raph; 02-08-2023 at 02:22 PM. |

I think most people are (and rightfully so) in wait-and-see mode. The post was from March of 2022 and I think that has people ever so cautiously optimistic ... as I'm sure the process for something like this takes time.
Side note, your video link is broken. Care to share again?

Were there any differences between the 1990 and SotO Tatsu?
I doubt there will be signature editions. |

Same with Splinter and Foot Soldiers, they look pretty much the same in the first 2 films. Unless they make an alternate video game Tatsu I think he wore a purple robe on the Sega game if I remember correctly.

The difference is minimal actually. No silver lining in SotO.

Ehh...they look the same to me based on the photos posted above (thanks guys!), so much so that you can probably do a quick custom on one to look like the other.

I think those are the same costume, no? Like it's just some leather-y accents and they happened to have caught the light in that OG screengrab but not in the Ooze shot. You can see the detail is still there, it's just not reflecting at that moment.
I could be wrong, it's been awhile since I watched either movie. But going off those shots I'd say it's the same. And if it's not but the sculpt is there you could pretty easily add the highlight. |

Honestly, Tatsu is the only genuine missing piece to finish the 1990 line so I'm sure NECA would go full out 1990 for that figure.

I agree, Tatsu is a great way to complete the 1990 line, but how cool would it be to also get Charles Pennington and Chief Sterns?
