NECA owns Hastings; this is probably just another example of them using the stores as an outlet for old product. |

I got the impression that they were talking about making figures using the old Neca sculpts and painting them like the old 8-bit games. Neca has done this with other lines like Jason and Aliens. I believe thats what dan was referencing when he bought up video game figures because he's reviewed a ton of Neca 8 NES figures.

Prototype shown at Toy Fair is half the size of the final Q-scale product, which will be 16.5 inches tall. |

Man, if they make these in a 6 inch or similar scale, I will burst into a flurry of glitter.

Oh my god, ~*DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE*~! The 1990 Henson turtles are my favorite incarnations of all time, and Donatello is my lifelong favorite turtle. He looks GREAT here!! I am so freaking happy about this, I can't even express it. Where do I preorder??? Because all four of these are going into a place of honor in my house, I don't even care what size.
Man, this is the best year ever. First I find out they're making Psychonauts 2 (and Psychonauts 1.5: Rhombus of Ruin), and now I find out about these. GLORIOUS. **flings my money everywhere**

First time ever I'm considering what can I sell to suddenly make money for this.
Plus bleeding my brain to figure out how can I sell this to my GF as I'm already on the turtles board game campaign... About the figures themself, I think the biggest attractive is that we haven't got any high end incarnation of the Henson turtles. Playmates Classic line didn't work that well, but not because the lines were not interesting but poorly executed. Now we've got the Prime 1 for statue lovers and this for figure lovers. I. AM. HAPPY.

I doubt it, sure it might actually happen (and I really hope that's what they're going with) but their big line recently is the retro style videogame cover art so I'm thinking NES/SNES cover style turtles, either way as long as it's on a smaller scale I'm in.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure what they were referring to. It would be nice though. I never expected to see them do the 1990 movie toys and we're finally getting those so who knows. Maybe if the game sells really well.

So the prototype Donatello is 8.25 inches tall? meaning next to a 1/6th scale fig, he'd look like this:
Now. I will have it now please. Right now. Yes. Please. Give here... |

I've noticed that whenever they do those loophole 7" figures, it's usually around the holidays, so maybe this year or Christmas next year we'll see the 7" Henson TMNT. From the sounds of that video, it sounds like that at least have something planned, they just can't talk about it.

I'm going to have to get another job.
Very tempting indeed, although I will say that as neat as NECA's stuff is, they have some QA issues that have made me a little gun-shy. I have an ED-209 with a barely functional leg - a friend of mine bought the 18" Adam West Batman, and the leg fell off two minutes out of the box. That's not what I expect from something that cost +$100.

Did you see the picture of him standing next to the Ring with the 7" Clubber Lang. I would say the proto is closer to 10.25. Making him 1:6th but apples are not oranges. But then again Randy is a devious fellow. And he did say look for sizes smaller and larger. Last edited by mikeyatemypizza; 02-15-2016 at 01:55 PM. |

I'm keen on turtles at their initial height - 4'6" - 5 foot. I get that they were bigger in TMNT 90, but for 1/6th scale, it would be sweet if they were 8.5"-10".
The detail on the larger Neca work, is..., well bigger isn't ususally better. The West was cool - but the Reeve was a disaster. |
