I guess this is gonna be like that Robbie Williams' movie Hook, with an aging and dying Peter Pan.

For some reason it reminds me of Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp. I was disappointed by that movie. Hopefully this one is better. I’m optimistic!

So glad they went with the traditional stuffed animal look. He’s cute. Hope the others look the same too.
I thought maybe they’d change it up for style reasons being live action. I saw someone mention they should use the original toy designs but those are kinda ugly imo.

I read somewhere that this movie is based on the book hence why Pooh is furry, greyish brown instead of the animated sleek, yellow skin look.

Also, Peter wasn't "dying" in Hook either. |

The book is yellowish. It’s more based on Edward the bear that the real life Christopher Robin had

I'm curious what they do with Owl since he wasn't based on a stuffed animal in the books.

Now there's some debate about whether Pooh or Paddington is better.

A new international poster has been released. Seeing Pooh give Christopher the balloon sure does bring back a lot of childhood memories.

Any other time, this kind of production would have just been really uncomfortable. The same kind of schlock that's coming from the Peter Rabbit movie (completely missing the moral of the original story). The loudness, the overly bright color, constant movement, a fart joke in there somewhere, an unfunny sassy line.
But this just feels different. The first trailer was slow but dramatic. The colors are subdued but warm. The funniest part of the trailer was Christopher apologizing for growing up, with the response being a gentle "Nah man, you just got some wrinkles and gray hair, we good." And the image of the four toys lounging on the beach seats? Freakin' adorable. At the same time though, I can just feel a sassy comment just waiting to leak through and spoil it. I get the feeling that this would have a role reversal between Christopher and Pooh Bear. At one time, Christopher was the voice of reason and wisdom, when he was a child. It would make sense for the roles to reverse. The story seems to be Christopher returning to his childhood and feeling some guilt for abandoning that part of his life, only to learn that it's okay. It's okay to grow up and miss your youth; so long as you cherish your memories, you shouldn't feel bad about it. It basically feels to me like a cup of sweetened black tea on a cold rainy day .

I guess he meant dying as he's an old man now instead of forever being a kid.

You can only fit so many on a minimalist poster.
Peter Capalidi is playing Rabbit, so he's around somewhere.
