I'd say Leo. He's the leader and even in the FW series episode Take me to Your Leader when he turned his back on his team the rest never worked together well without him.

I would say;

Cartoons:
'87 - Splinter
'03 - Don/Mike
'12 - Mikey
'18 - tough since there's so little info; I'd say Mikey or Don for sure though

Comics:
IDW - MIKE xD
Mirage - Splinter

Movies:
'07 - Don
14/16 - Mikey
Batman vs. TMNT (Btw, that movie NEEDS a sequel like the comics had! That'd ****ing KILL the competition! Bane and Don dynamic that happened? Yes. Finally more Don-centric? YES.) - Either Leo or...(wait for it) RAPH. I know right, weird choice. I'd say Raph because in this incarnation, it seems like Leo and Raph are really big on being older brother figures for their little brothers to lean on, so I'd say either one works. Leo is self-explanitory and Raph (in this incarnation) would take his place in the event of Leo's death, I'd think. I would also assume him maturing a little and using Mike and Don as motivation to press on and be a 'replacement Leo' so to speak.

There you have it folks. I think I hit it pretty spot on but if you have any objections, speak now or forever hold your peace

Overall, I have to agree that Michelangelo is the glue. As the heart and morale builder, he keeps them all on an even keel both emotionally and ethically. He is the least likely to go for a kill unless absolutely neccessary, but also the one with the gift for boosting spirits even in the most dire of situations.
