Which I think is a great choice. The extra grain from the blow up from 16 to 35 plus the minimalist look of the scene really cranks up that "urban punk" vibe the film carries. I can't imagine it without the grain. The film would look too basic, too clean.
Got around to watching the TV series Street Hawk on DVD and even for DVD it looks as grainy as hell yet it gives it that gritty urban street feel so that may have been a choice at the time.
