pre-87’s cartoon stuff.
hi! i've searched in the forum but i haven't found any thread with this information.
i've been looking for books and other tmnt's stuff that was made before the Mark Freedman/87's cartoon besides the original comics, and i was able to find this: books/comic books Martial arts authorized training manual #1-#6. (Solson Comics). How to draw Eastman and Laird’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. (Solson Comics). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles teach karate. (Solson Comics). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & other strangeness. (Palladium Books). Turtlemania. (Metropolis Comics/Robert Wilson). figures/collectibles t-shirt iron-ons. (Mirage Studios). t-shirts. (Mirage Studios). The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles miniatures for the connoiseur. (Dark Horse). do you know any other product? thanks, aka. mcfly Last edited by akamcfly; 05-09-2020 at 02:14 PM. The First Graphic Novels' first printings were made before the 1st cartoon premiered. 1st printing of the first book was printed November, 1986.
The Button Set is copyright 1985 in the ad. They are individually numbered and 1000 sets were made. Anyone ever see set #1 or #1,000? |

I think Mirage referred to that period as the "pre-Surge" era. Do you have a copy of the Official TMNT Treasury? It lists most of the merchandise from that period.

thanks for the replys!
i had no idea about these button sets. i've remembered this site https://tmnt-ninjaturtles.com/, it has a lot of information. but i will get the Official TMNT Treasury and from now i will say "pre-surge era", is more accurate. aka. mcfly |

No problem. It also helps to check out the ads in the Mirage comics from that era. Most of this stuff was advertised there.
