I hope they don't make it exclusively a 4 pack like the $300 Ghostbusters set

Not putting too much stock in these. The fact that they photoshopped Leo's arm just to pull off that pose is a bit odd, and they're already 2+ years behind on their preorders for certain licensed IPs. On top of that, I don't see them making anything beyond the four turtles. Just doesn't make sense to buy into the line knowing all of those factors, especially at the prices they demand.

I admit the photoshopping is heavy, hard to ignore in those pics... I think because they showed these off earlier than they should have. They wanted to have a big announcement but the figures aren't in a complete enough state so they just rolled with it.
All I gotta say is... look at all the figure one:12 figures Mezco puts out. People love them, they look great and have lots of accessories and articulation. The quality is high. I think people will warm to these when we see better pics closer to release. |

That being said, I'm anxiously optimistic about Fury Toy's third party approach to TMNT. Already have Leo preordered and I'm looking forward to seeing more info about Donnie and Killer Croc/Leatherhead.

BBTS pre-order is now up. BBTS requires a $40 Non-Refundable deposit. Mezco store link is further up the thread. Entertainment Earth should follow soonish.

It’s cool, but is it even worth it these days with so many options? Really, really love the looks of them though!

Each collector will have to decide the value proposition of course... but to me, these are very unique and I think there will be a huge demand for them once they are no longer available. I am definitely getting them.

Such an amazing looking set.
I wasn't expecting individual bodies for them...I figured they would all be the same. |

Pretty neat, though I'm not getting them. The proportions kind of remind me of the 2012 line, which I really dig. The sculpts look kind of lumpy though, like they're foam rubber suits or something. Also strange that Raph looks to be the smallest turtle.
Still, a cool set, and decently priced for everything you get I guess. I think they would have made a killing with this if it had released a couple years ago. In 2023... probably not as much. |

Really hope the scale listed is wrong - they're 17cm/6.69 inches tall which seems very wrong.

Heads up, everybody. Entertainment Earth does not require a deposit. Pay on arrival. I have been placing all my mezco preorders with them for this reason.

I'm wondering if that's just bad photoshop? Surely they won't have Raph as the smallest. And agreed, 2013 to 2016 would have had people going nuts for this set.

Why do they cost so much? Well, lots of soft goods, packed with accessories, alternate heads, effects parts, great articulation, and they are made by a smaller company (think Super7) which tends to lead to slightly higher prices since their production is working on a smaller scale than the big boys. But the good news is they are known for their quality and unique spin on designs, so for example when they do a Batman figure they don't do a Batman based on a particular comic storyline but one that is 100% their own unique take (exception: movie figures), and fans love this about them. They are not only highly collectible but keep their value and can have great resale/trade value too. I'm telling you now, a few years from now when supply on these dries up, these will be some of the most sought after turtle figures. Last edited by Zulithe; 01-05-2023 at 04:55 AM. |
