As a kid I was equally captivated by that movie as I was mortified by it. It's not that it's scary, but as a kid it had this whimsical desolation to it that felt different at the time. I don't think kids who weren't there would understand. And then when I first got Netflix (maybe 11 years ago now? 10?) they were sending out more DVDs than they were streaming. I hadn't seen this movie since the 80's and it was one of the first discs I had sent to me. Just a crazy sort of modified zombie flick. Really strange to see this obscure movie pop up here. |

Last movie watched, the new Witches movie. It wasn't bad, I was interested to see what they decided to do with it, but I do like the original so that still remains my preference. Last edited by newfan; 01-15-2021 at 10:41 AM. |

Watched Soul. Was really cute and heartfelt, which I love in a Disney movie. And had a great message, though I think the ending was a bit bittersweet. Mainly because

My 4-year-old nephew showed me this movie over Christmas. I remember thinking how mature it was for a child's movie! Very engaging flick!

Superman Man Of Tomorrow the first of the new DC animated flims. I really enjoyed it. Martian Manhunter is in the movie a lot as kind of a mentor to Clark becoming Superman which I loved. Also Lobo is a hoot in this movie. Lex and how they did Parasite was fun too

My soul to take (2010) by Wes Craven. If released in the 80s or 90s it would have been an interesting movie but in 2010 it was just pretty boring. Very weak, probably the worst by Craven.

Yesterday I've casually catched a very old movie while channel hopping: A slight case of murder (1938 ) with Edward G. Robinson. A funny gangster comedy set in the prohibition era. Not bad, I have to check that local channel more frequently. |

I also really enjoyed "Rambo" (2008 film); that was really good. Although I feel like a person needs a certain sense of nihilism in order to truly appreciate it. I still didn't see the newest one, though; isn't there a Director's Cut version? That's what I've been waiting for, I only see the "vanilla" version at Walmart so I haven't picked it up yet, but I heard it's good. I mean, Part II and III are nothing at all like "First Blood", but... eh, it was the '80s. I feel like "Rambo" tonally fits with the first, though.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, once again great movie.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt work so well together and have such great chemistry. Brad Pitt's Cliff Booth is the breakout character for me; getting into fights (which are his best moments), always being there for Rick, etc. He's like the best friend bodyguard you always wanted. While Margot Robbie didn't get as much scenes as I thought she would, she was good whenever she was on screen. And how about that twisted ending? Definitely Quentin Tarantino! |

The ending/climax was based on a true story. It actually really happened in real life, you can read up on it.

Right? Made me wish she had more scenes. She's really good in the roles she plays. Some say the movie is long but it's so enjoyable that it feels like it goes by fast.

Watched the three live-action Turtles films. The first one still holds up. Movie 2...um...creative? Movie 3...good action that I actually forgot about, but still not all that good and had some missed opportunities which would've made it better.
