I am currently reading Shardik by Richard Adams. As a kid I was a huge fan of Watership Down, but I'm having trouble getting into this one, although Adams said it was his favorite book he'd written.

I wonder what are the odds anyone else here read it...

I started to read it a while ago but I couldn't get into it.

Right now I'm reading The Devil's Elixirs by E.T.A. Hoffmann. It's fantastic.

My other half and I are currently reading Stephen King's Dark Tower series with a few connecting books and novellas thrown in for good measure. It's her first time around. I want to say it'll be my ninth. The first of the films comes out the day after my birthday, so been gearing up for those a few months early. We just started Wizard and Glass. So naturally, reading the names Shardik and Richard Adams has me thinking of radar dishes. haha

I'm rereading The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo but it's a slightly different translation to my other two.

Currently reading Star Wars: Lords of the Sith by Paul S. Kemp. Awesome read on the relationship between Darth Vader and Palpatine after Episode III, as well as the rebel forces on Ryloth.

Reading some of the free comic book day books that I got Saturday. The All-New Guardians of the Galaxy-plus The Defenders, Suicide Squad, the Tick, and Tex.
I listed them in the order I found to be most enjoyable, from most to least. Guardians and Squad where about even but the Defender preview within Guardians bumped it up.

Just finished Every Heart a Doorway. Great concept, though it did not quite live up to its potential, in my opinion.

I am starting All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders. Love the title; plot sounds interesting.

A couple days ago I finished reading Batman: The Killing Joke. Loved it. Especially the writing for the Joker. Also, I finally started reading the first TMNT/Batman crossover. I purchased the HC edition last August and didn't open it until yesterday. Finished it today. The art is amazing and imho did outshine the writing.

Just finished "the Rocketeer & the Spirit: pulp friction." Was a good change of pace. Got it as a gift.

Reading Batman: Noel. The art is amazing, the way things are structured is amazing, it's unlike any other comic I have read before.
Edit: finished it, it's beautiful. I understand Batman better now.

I just finished reading Vol 3 of Batman Knightfall. What a fantastic Story.

I also read Vol 1 of Batman TMNT. Holy Crap what an amazing comic. I never knew how badly I wanted to see the Bat and the Turtles fight the foot and Mutated versions of Batman's Rouges.

Just started To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 by Tad Williams. It's the last part of his Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series; very good. I highly recommend it for fantasy fans. It starts rather slowly, but it's well worth it if you stick with it.

Currently reading Of Dark Elves and Dragons, a fantasy novel. It's basically about a druid who allies with dragons to stop a demon-possessed necromancer from destroying the world by ripping all the magic from it in a quest for power. Really interesting story, and one of the better fantasy novels I've read recently.
