Heh, yeah, that's hilarious!

Random thought I had earlier-

So with the demise of Barnum and Bailey/Ringling Bros. circus earlier this year, it makes me sad for the fate of circuses in general. It's not JUST about the end of one (iconic) circus, it is the end of an entire way of life for so many people. If a huge spectacle over 100 years old can die off, what chance to any of the small-town ones have? It wasn't just the uproar over elephants (who are almost entirely BORN into that life and have never known anything else- they grow up around humans as part of their "herd" so living as their wild ancestors is as foreign to them as living in a city would be to those same ancestors) or the resultant (or preceding) drop in ticket sales. It is the end of a historical (world's largest and longest lasting circus) icon, which in its heyday WAS the "Greatest Show On Earth".

It also means that the Clown College (which was started by B&B/RB) will probably also close down, since circuses are the largest source of jobs for professional clowns, and offer the largest incomes. There will still be birthday parties and other small events like store openings or whatnot, but that is hardly a drop in the bucket. And then you have all the acrobats, the animal trainers and keepers, the concession vendors and everyone else associated with a circus. All now without not just their work but their entire LIFESTYLE. It is sad and depressing to think that so much culture that has grown around the circus will die off....

People just aren't interested in circuses anymore. Clowns are scary, people would rather see elephants at a zoo/on safari, Cirque du Soleil is more artful, there are so many more ways of family entertainment than there was 100 years ago, and the thrill isn't as fun anymore.

And with the decline of circuses, there's the decline of "I'm going to run away and join the circus!" mindset (which I actually employed with my own concept of Bebop and Rocksteady, who don't realize that travelling circuses are basically extinct)

That comic is hilarious and I could so see the Turtles doing that.

As for circuses, I agree that it's sad they are ending as a whole. I never went to one, or if I did, I was too little to really remember it. But now no one will get to experience that and many people are out of work because of it. It's indeed a shame.

One thing that I do find funny is the "clown husbandry" meme going on tumblr right now.

I have no idea where it came from, but I love it.

Could you share/link any? I haven't heard of this.

I DID see a hilarious commercial parody of It today before the Cowboys game though. it was called "Jet". So funny, in that "what did I just watch?!" kind of way, LOL!

I'd seen these realistic-looking spider temporary tattoos among the cheap Halloween stuff at the dollar store. Had the passing thought of, If it were somehow possible to put one on the back of my sister's hand in her sleep...

Just now laughed way harder than I should have imagining her reaction.

This is after all the girl who as kids freaked out over a plastic spider (the kind that comes with that Halloween web stuff, so not even a realistic spider!), that somehow got away from the decorations upstairs and ended at the bottom of the steps. And, freaking out, came and got me to come deal wit it. (She will never ever live that one down.)

Now I'm considering getting a sheet and seeing if they'll at least stick to a wall or the wood floor. (Or should I put it on my nephew's cheek before she gets home from work? )

Lol that sounds like something I would do!

Those clown comments were hilarious BTW. Couldn't stop laughing, especially at the one about displacing corn children. ROFLMAO!!

Unfortunately, I'd already joked about it on FB too (to which she replied with a "Noooo" and a flame thrower gif), so she'd be in on it. But the thought of an innocently evil sibling prank is nice (and a little deserved right now). *evil grin*

It's the thought that counts.
Spoiler:
Because the thought was hilarious.

I realized I don't give nearly enough attention to two characters of my TMNT concept, which is a shame because I think they have some potential

Spoiler:
Krang is the oldest of five children, and his two immediate younger siblings, Sheroe and Leonea, are identical twin sisters - something that I portray as ludicrously rare for Utroms, to the point that it has very little medical understanding. They share position as heads of the Supreme Council, but they end up on the backburner against their little brother Garaon...who is something of an anti-Krang.
Which I guess is why I've ended up developing his character further???

Middle Child problems I guess XD . And yet I still have enough details that I could make something pretty neat with them.

The switch, after finally finding one, is a little weird.

The basic unit feels SUPER Flimsy. and i'm not even sure if the console is in the screen, or the actual flimsy holder with the hdmi output.

It's hard to believe something more powerful than the Wii U could be fit in something so small. makes you wonder why the U had to be so big, let alone te X Box.

I just wish nintendo would get it's virtual console act together and have their entire game library available on day one each new system....even if i have to repurchase them AGAIN..at least it's all out there and no waiting.

ugh.

I like the Switch quite a lot, personally though I only get to use it when visiting my boyfriend. Or he visits me. And even then, I just play Breath of the Wild.
