TMNT ONGOING #108
Spoiler:
Shipping bi-weekly, the Summer of TMNT starts now! The Turtles are trapped by a fearsome new mutant foe with seemingly no way of escape. Their friends make a last-ditch attempt to save the Turtles, but will secrets in City Hall spell salvation or doom? (W) Sophie Campbell, Ronda Pattison (A/CA) Nelson Daniel TMNT THE LAST RONIN #1 (OF 5) Spoiler:
It's the TMNT event of 2020! Springing from the minds of TMNT co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird comes an epic like you've never seen before! In a future NYC far different than the one we know today, a lone surviving Turtle goes on a seemingly hopeless mission to obtain justice for his fallen family and friends. Kinetic layouts from Eastman, moody inks from Andy Kuhn and a thrilling script full of surprises from longtime TMNT scribe Tom Waltz all combine to make this one of the most memorable TMNT stories you will ever read! Oversized in both format and page count, this is a perennial TMNT tale that can't be missed! (W) Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Tom Waltz (A/CA) Kevin Eastman, Andy Kuhn |

I’m straight up giddy about The Last Ronin. I think it will pull in a lot of readers with the premise and larger format. The recent crossovers probably brought some eyes to the TMNT comics as well, so I’m pretty much as excited to see how well this does as I am to read it.
Looks like a DKR homage from Kevin. |

Been hearing plenty on Last to know how many folks are excited there <3
Shipping bi-weekly though, am I maybe getting TOO excited in hoping that means double issues of turtles each month, or just referring to the main/robin issues rotating every two weeks there?

Not certain but I think the bi-weekly means the main ongoing as 105 is slated for late June at the moment meaning both 106 and 107 would have to be released in July if the above 108 is to release in August. That being said we're technically only 2 issues behind the original release schedule, so it's not a massive amount of catch-up to do considering that all the other current TMNT releases either have only 2 or 3 issues left in their runs or are collected editions which have no strict release pattern.

Well, weirdly enough, on Comixology, we have 105 listed up for June 24th release, but 106/107 are labelled as releasing BOTH on July 29th?

Yeah I have no idea what's going on in terms of release dates. This is very confusing.

I wonder what secrets are in city hall, I bet it has to do with null. that or april holds up a magical sword and becomes deputy mayor.

Bi-weekly sounds like a dream come true. Too bad it's only for the Summer, apparently.

It's obviously to make up for lost time till the schedule gets back on track, how many months of releases did we miss? I don't remember, did an issue come out in March? Or was April the first month we skipped?

The double-shipping was already scheduled before the pandemic, actually, that's why I'm not drawing these issues and why I'm writing more than 12 issues. We're always at least 3 months ahead in terms of planning and scheduling.

So your stint is 13 months and 16 issues? Got any clues to give us to who this sewer dweller threat is?

Most excited for City Hall. Baxter and maybe Null; that'll be good!

I know it’s easier said than done but I try not to even think about shipping schedules with books anymore than absolutely necessary. I’ve come to the understanding that they are never more than targets at which the creators aim for. However the industry works, it doesn’t seem designed in a way that supports dependable release dates, so I try and save myself the worry.
Luckily, each issue will be nice and chunky, which may help alleviate any release schedule hiccups. |

A sudden rush of Turtle content is welcome.
This upcoming storyline seems to have a horror movie vibe to it.

If it's anything like the Wyrm issue in TMNTU, I'll love it.

I was actually hoping that it is Wyrm to 3xpand beyond one off,but it will likely be a new character. Wyrm never got much mileage and the space genie turn for the one off dust off on the 2012 Nicktoon was poorly done.
