I like the new April figure a lot. I wont do the head swap yet, as I only have the one. and the head looks good on the jump (space) suit body.
As soon as I saw April in the show, wearing the outfit, I knew we'd be seeing the figure. I think it will prove very popular. As much as I wanted the Casey variant, he doesnt come off as pleasingly. Still a decent figure tho. the Mikey varient that comes with the pretty cool Fugitoid ship is neat, and visually looks like he is wearing more spce gear owing to his colouring. I messed up and forgot to get the RoBug.. With everything shutting down for CNY, I wont be able to get that for another 2-3 weeks. Still, 4 pretty decent new releases to hit stores for the beginning of the year, and in my mind, all keeping the DX range setting a decent standard of figure. |

Well then, the Mutations line definitely does not favor Donnie. First he was excluded from the transforming weapons, and now these too...

Doubt there will be a spitting or eye popping Donnie either, looks like Playmates are phasing out Donatello in variant sets.

At this point Playmates is probably better off convincing the show's crew to pull an IDW with Don but make it permanent. As Don is the only one I ever get of these variants it's disheartening to see him left out.

If that happens, hopefullyNick crew will say "**** that" like The Real Ghostbusters said when they where suggested to nix Ray since he was deemed surpoflous.

I think we will get Spittin Don in the next case assortment with Leo. This isn't the first time the variants have gotten split into two case assortments. It happened with the battle shell variants too.

According to one of Pixel Dan's videos (I believe that it was that one video in where he discusses about the TMNT 2 figures), he said that the supposed reason why Donatello doesn't get that much figures and the other three do, is because Donatello is the least sold toy. Supposedly, Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo are the most sold ones, while Donatello isn't the most sold. Also don't get confused. This is for the variants that Playmates make that aren't from the show itself.

This wave is awesome! hoping we get a few more Dimension X figures before the end of the storyline (ie: Triceraton soldiers, Mona Lisa, Wyrm) and then after the ICK pet 3 pack Muckman and Dire Beaver. We shall see but looking forward to the rest of year

Anybody else think it's weird or lame that there are no figures out for the various space characters we've had so far? Wyrm, Bellybomb, Mona, etc. Aren't they supposed to come out before they appear, that way they're relevant? If we get toys of these dudes it's gonna be 6 months after they've come & gone... As an adult collector, it's not a big deal for me, if I get any they're just gonna sit on a shelf anyway. But a kid would want them to coincide with the show, & during that time-frame is when it'd make the most financial sense to release them, no? It's not like there are repeats to familiarize folks further.
