Jennika adapted in future TMNT shows/movies?

Any ideas on how Jennika/Jenny will be brought into new TMNT movies/TV shows?

She won't be. Nothing from IDW ever migrated outside of it, not even Old Hob who debuted in the first issue in 2011 and has been around a decade now.

That's not surprising since the 2012–2017 Nickelodeon cartoon already has Tigerclaw.

What about Alopex? And the oddly standardised lab experiment origin? There's even a game based around the character designs. I'll agree that it's not much yet but it's straight up false to say it hasn't happened yet and foolish to think it won't happen.

Tiger Claw sucks, if there's a character I seriously doubt will make it outside his original incarnation, it's him.

Unless it's an IDW animated adaptation- which would be amazing- I doubt it.

Simple.

Adapt her actual IDW origin of being an honourable Foot Ninja that gets gravely injured and the only way to survive is to get a blood transfusion from one of the turtles which inadvertently turns her into a mutant turtle herself.

The fact that character exists and hasn't sent the fanbase or wider culture into a complete meltdown I would say gives better odds that someone will take a shot at adapting the character in a future iteration of TMNT. If/when that does happen I think her actual story that had even cynics go "hmm maybe this wont be so bad" is the best route to go. No playing it like she was part of the group all along or saying she was one of the original turtles but Splinter missed her ala Venus.

If you must you could start a new version of TMNT with the main characters and setups already established including Jennika as long as her backstory is that she's a human turned turtle. The whole dealing with her mutation, the other turtles feeling kinda responsible and the question of whether she will become human again or whether she will accept being a mutant is a big part of her appeal imo. Also it's reminiscent of the whole mission to turn Splinter back into Hamato Yoshi which was an interesting idea dropped a bit too quickly in the 80s show.

The moral of Splinter No More was at least throughout the rest of the series.

I was going to cite Pigeon Pete as another IDW concept, but then I remembered he was actually a Nick creation. Anyone else forget that, considering Pete's prominence in IDW?

Pete is originally a Fred Wolf character from the episode What's Michelangelo Good For?. He was not a mutant, but not all animals must mutate.

He might as well be an original character altogether, it's not like there's much similarity beyond the name.

It's times like this you have to remember how obscure comics are compared to movies or TV shows. Not just for TMNT, but for mostly anything.

Hot Take:

Movies and TV only serve to present a paper-thin, dumbed-down version of what is otherwise pretty good fiction, for the benefit and joy of nobody except those who are functionally illiterate (and often proud of it).

This is true exactly 101% of the time, allowing for a 1% margin of error.

Sometimes it's still good! But... yeah, you're not wrong.

The way TMNT properties like to mix and match different aspects of their previous incarnations, I wouldn't be surprised if some future comic incarnation had Venus and Jennika fight it out before they can finally settle their rivalry and help the OG TMNT face the team up of Shredder, Null, The Dragon Lord and Baron Draxum.

Oh, surely, sometimes TV and film adaptations are still pretty good. But "better"? Only if you're the kind of rube who proudly brags that you haven't even glanced at a book since high school. Otherwise, never ever.

Agreed. You can't condense years (decades!) of character development and plot into 2 or 3 hours.

Isn't that why they had Nicholson Joker kill Keaton Bruce's parents? To kinda give Batman and Joker some sort of personal connection to go with the comics, even though they only encountered each other for... idk... a week or so, over decades of comics?
