David Ayer and Margot Robbie helming all female villian DC movie - Page 7

The villain will be Black Mask, who also happens to be gay.

In addition, the film will contain a plethora of LGBTQIA+ characters/relationships.

Hopefully, the filmmakers won't fall back on offensive/unfortunate stereotypes/tropes. ( Warner Bros. themselves seem unhappy, though. I'm sensing another Justice League; that can't be good. )

If that's true then they've 100% abandoned any plans for an even flimsily cohesive DCEU. I don't see Nicki Minaj showing up in, like, Matt Reeves' "The Batman 2" or anything to reprise the part. Hard lines will be being drawn, everything will get fractured into little pockets. Over here is the WW and Aquamanverse, over here is the Batman universe, over here is the Harley/SJW universe, etc..

And speaking of hard lines, yeah. Personally I would watch her in just about anything.

How about just making a good movie, instead of pandering to BBQ+ and other crazies?

It seems producers now think that including gay characters gave their project +100 to immunity and +1000 to popularity. Except its not how it works. If your movie sucks, than no amount of gays will be able to salvage it. Blaming and shaming people post-factum for hating on the movie, if its not good, is one of the most nefariously idiotic things one can do to ruin their relationship with the audience for the foreseeable future.

So, I have since heard that the film fat-shames/body-shames one of the lead actresses. It also gay-bashes the main villain through disrespectful dialogue that's deliberately directed toward(s) him.

I still have no interest in this movie. Black Canary is not black. They only did that to check off the PC Card. Also No Batgirl/oracle it really isn't the Birds of Prey

It makes Suicide Squad look GOOD by comparison. How do you even do that? Harley Quinn, one of the few parts that still stands up from Suicide Squad, and she looks terrible in this.

If The Batman doesn't deliver (and deliver soon), I think I'm just going to bow out of all things DC for awhile.

We've come a long damn way since The Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel... most of it downhill.

I mean, when was the last good DC villain on film? Michael Shannon's General Zod? I feel like it was Zod. Sure wasn't fvcking Ares or Enchantress. Or Jesse Eisenberg.

At this point, DC is definitely following Marvel's "formula"... the villains are trite, the CGI is everywhere, and there are more jokes.

Except by this point, Marvel has managed to break out of their own formula in some places. Thanos, Killmonger, Vulture, and Zemo In Name Only were villains that were just as captivating and intriguing as the good guys.

Whereas DC used to have Joker, Liam Neeson's R'as al Ghul, Bane, Harvey Dent, and Zod, now they have... Enchantress, Jesse Eisenberg, CGI Ares... at least the Aquaman villains were really good.
