I can't wait for the new Summoning cd!! Just listen to this

It has very much potential to be their best album. My expectations are ridiculously high. If you're into Tolkien themed epic music, check the band. Here's one of my favorite songs:

Star Wars soundtrack for all 6 movies. It wouldn't be Star Wars without John Williams. I hope he scores Episode VII, Otherwise it won't be worth watching.

DVD: Guns N Roses "Welcome to the Videos". It's a shame they couldn't get clearance to use the video for "You Could Be Mine" (once again, the short-sightedness of movie tie-ins ruins something awesome). The rest is, of course, great. The video for "Estranged" is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

I'm really looking forward to the new AFI CD. I adore AFI.

No it's not, they all hated each other from Day One, people just like to pretend they didn't. Five guys who knew each other from being in local bands and screwing a lot of the same chicks, managed to hang out for a couple years together and make a really, really great record, then when the drug problems got worse, they all started nailing each other's girlfriends, and the guy writing most of the material decided he wanted more control, they went their separate ways. There was nothing magical, special, or unique about my favorite band of all time, other than they happened to hang out long enough to record The Greatest Rock Record Of All Time.

People like to romanticize those days but it's mostly how I laid it down. 99% of bands go through it, they just aren't all the biggest rock band in the world. The Beatles hated each other and John Lennon liked to beat women and ignore his kids. Oh well. History likes to make believe things were better than they were.

Picked up Bad Religion "True North". They remain one of the greatest bands of the modern era. It's amazing how they predate so many of the most popular bands of all-time. Their longevity is incredible.

Today I got Havohej - The Black Mist picture 7". I'm so happy, these are some of the best songs Ledney ever recorded! I think at 25€ it was a bargain.

Shoot, I preordered a CD, which will be released on 25.10. but I could get it already from a distributor in my town... and now I'm forced to wait and see if those baguette eaters will send it early enough for me to get it this week. Sometimes preordering is really the right thing to do, but other times there are these instances.

Ildjarn/Hate Forest - Those Once Mighty Fallen split CD. Ildjarn is magnificent, the one band that possibly couldn't let me down even if wanted to. Hate Forest's side is ok too, though intro and outro are the best ones there.
