Sdcc 2017

It's that time of year again, SDCC season. I've seen multiple individual threads about specific SDCC TMNT exclusives but I wanted to start one that combines all sightings and news like we've done previous years. We already know about the NECA classic exclusive, the Funko Baxter Fly, and the Playmates Usagi. Did I miss anything?? It's assumed that we are getting the 1/6 scale accessory pack from NECA as well.

I'm wishing I was in San Diego but I always look forward to talking turtles with all of you guys this time of year too!

Bobby just stated in the Ask the Editor thread that there is some kind of announcement coming tomorrow, so I'm guessing it pertains to the comic or possibly the new show

Oh ****! That's awesome! I'm not surprised they're selling it as a separate figure. This is a strategy that multiple companies use to boost sales.

I would rather have an accessory pack for Raph then a whole figure dedicated to it. I get it boost sales but these things aren't lacking sales. As much as I want that stuff I won't be spending for a second Raph. Especially if there is a shredder and baby turtles announced.

Welp, Usagi Yojimbo is limited to 50 a day. It was sold out in less than 20 minutes at Preview Night so... you know...

If they don't announce shredder and they say this is the last of the line I will get him. I am going to assume the price is going to be a little bit more than the standard version.

NYCC is no where near as big of a show as San Diego and I would assume with a movie accurate shredder (assuming it was as well done as the turtles) they would want as many eyes on it as possible. You are 100% right though. I don't think we saw the baby turtles until NYCC.

It's more of a timing thing. NECA typically follows the following model:
NYCC is to show what's releasing during the holiday and Q1-Q2 of the following year. SDCC is to show what's releasing July thru NYCC

I know it's a long shot. Very long shot. But what if it is a IDW and NECA team up announcement? Most likely though its surrounding the new show. But that still isn't happening until fall 2018 last I heard. But perhaps art from the comic based around the new show?

It would be a better announcement from NECA to say that Playmates toys is loosening the grip so that they can now make 6 inch scaled figures.

I would love a Shredder and the turtles from the 1990 movie but the giant scale is just way too much for me. The likeness of Leo I saw in person was amazing, but he takes up way more real-estate than I want him to.
