They're not going to launch the next 3D Mario and Zelda at the same time. Since Zelda is confirmed for launch, the next 3D Mario will probably be Nintendo's big holiday 2017 title. They won't have Mario and Zelda compete with one another, Nintendo likes to spread out their big games.

What we can probably expect is a lot of ports. Smash Bros is rumored to be ported with all the DLC included (and if we're lucky, a few new characters), as well as Splatoon and Mario Maker ports. I also fully expect a Hyrule Warriors deluxe which combines the Wii-U and 3DS versions together in one game with all the DLC.

it's an interesting selection, I noticed Super C on there, It's a good game I just wonder why Contra wasn't included.

Nintendo's really turning things around. Pokemon GO is crazy popular, which they could possibly tie people in to Sun/Moon hype, then this mini NES comes out which will probably be a huge hit, then if they can get all these people returning to Nintendo interested in the NX, they're golden.

excellent selection of games. i knew it was a pipe dream but was hoping a tmnr game found its way onto there. oh well.

Killer list of titles, I wish it had a few different ones like why Super C instead of the original? but it's hit after hit that it's hard to complain especially when the bad choices are great games themselves. It really has all these iconic NES games, no messing around with the big hitters and all in one go and it includes tons of big third party games, this could've easily been only Nintendo developed games and been a great buy.

I don't know about getting it though, I already own a NES with games/a Flashcard and most of those games digitally on my Wii U. So I don't know If I can justify getting it or if it's just novelty value.

Yeah I think it'd be cheaper for me to just get what I can from the Nintendo eShop. I think I can smell an SNES version coming much later.

Report: More Evidence Surfaces That NX Is A Handheld That Connects To TV

Rumors about the Nintendo NX, the company’s Wii U successor, have been swirling since the project was formally announced in March 2015. Thin supposition has turned into more concrete, sourced reports that the NX is a handheld with living room capabilities.

The latest report comes from Eurogamer, which claims sources have revealed a number of details about the hardware. According to the publication, NX’s handheld form factor will have controller attachments on each side for use with a television or monitor.

The controller dock would be required for use in the living room, and Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry suggests that the handheld uses Nvidia’s Tegra mobile processor. Another refrain in the story is that the NX will use cartridges rather than discs.

This fits with Nintendo’s handheld strategy, of course. 3DS users are no strangers to small game cards. The NX will also support digital copies, similar to the Wii U and 3DS.

According to Eurogamer, Nintendo is scheduling a formal console announcement in September. NX is due in March 2017.

The direct wasn't that bad, but I just couldn't get hyped about it and I'm not hyped about it even if it was decent. I'm not sure if it's because of the impending NX or maybe the lack of Iwata (but we used to have Iwata-less Directs before) but I'm just not feeling or care about Directs anymore, I wrote about it here. I kind of want something new.
