I haven't been impressed by Pixar and as much as I love the Incredibles...they're relying too much on sequels now. They saw the success of TS3, and went all franchise happy. First Cars 2, then Monsters University, next Finding Dory, and now Cars 3 AND Incredible 2. Come on...at least every Disney movie is it's own, original thing...
Eh, personally I think Disney have a finger in turning Pixar into a sequel grinder. Disney even did their own Cars Spin-Off with planes. Disney have sequels all over the place, there even is a Cinderella 3 and the Little Mermaid 2, Peter Pan 2, Tarzan 2 and Lion King 3.

And there is still original movies in the works, as Inside Out, that unnamed Dia de los Muertos movie and a dinosaur movie.

Planes was originally meant to be direct to DVD. It's made by Disney toon studios, which is a smaller branch of the company that made all the non canon, crappy sequels you mentioned. Not part of the Disney animated canon.

I can believe that.

Disney pressured Pixar into making Toy Story 3, so it's a possibility that they've been doing that to Pixar with every sequel. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney is the real reason Newt was canceled in favor of Brave, because Princess toys sell better Lizard toys.

I think the fact that they're making this movie is a sign they may be running on fumes and need to crank out some sequels to (undeservingly) popular movies from their back catalogue. They'll never make anything as good as Toy Story 3 ever again.

Not sure on that, Toy Story, Monsters Inc? A Bugs life? And other hits, I enjoy the last few movies, yeah Cars 2 was well ugh, but Brave was pretty good.

I would go as far to say that Toy Story 1 and 3 are the only truly great Pixar movies. Everything else is mediocre to bad.

Incredibles 2- YES. Can't wait.
Cars 3- YES! I actually liked Cars and Cars 2 and I want this one to be good after Planes was sh*t.

Brave is one of Pixar's best, the story is great, the charavter design is clever and well done and the effects and animation is puuure animator's porn, animating hair is hard enough, they had to make wet hair and succeeded perfectly.

I actually agree with you, I liked Cars 1 and 2 a lesser degree Cars 2 was fun.

Incredibles 2 should have been done years ago, wonder if the kids will be grown up, or Frozen will be in it.

I really wanted to believe Pixar would be great forever and that Disney had let them continue their own thing. The internet always overreacts but I think they're golden age is indeed over. I haven't really cared for their movies anymore, maybe they aren't terrible but they kind of phone it in like Dreamworks and other studios. I wonder how much Disney had to do with it or if it was just inevitable. Whatever happened to the no sequels, sure when they started I thought it was ok but now almost everything will be a sequel and their stories were pretty stand alone, forcing sequels isn't entertaining. Even while I think Toy Story 2 wasn't bad looking back it, they really should'nt have made it. I'm also not too big of a fan of TS3. In fact the Disney sequel could've turned out just as fun even if it wasn't as "emotional", but TS3 felt too much like the brave little toaster to me.

Many have wanted a sequel for The Incredibles forever and now that it's getting it many are complaining haha. I never liked The Incredibles much but a sequel doesn't make sense, the story was resolved and sure they can have other superhero adventures but that wasn't why they were created, all of them are parodies/archetypes of superheroes to tell that story, not to be actual superheroes.

No, because he's a cynical asshole that constantly starts arguments on here with his stupid opinions... Ones that he uses to attack other people.

I don't see how him stating that opinion attacked anyone? Maybe if you're a child you'd take a dissenting opinion of something you like as an attack, but I'd hope you're more mature than all that.

There's also a Little Mermaid 3 which was a really well done prequel to the first movie as we found out how Ariel's mother died and how it effected Triton.

I liked Cinderella 3 as it was more or less a continuation of the Little Mermaid films. The prince being Ariel's son (the old king had a room dedicated to his late wife...wall to wall paintings of Ariel and on a pedistool was the seashell that held her voice. So yeah. Ariel dies sometime between The Little Mermaid 2 and the events in Cinderella).

There was never a Lion King 3. The movies are Lion King, Lion King 1 1/2 (the first movie from the POV of Timone and Pumbaa), and Lion King 2.

Incidentally before Muppets Most Wanted I saw the trailer for the next Planes movie...Planes: Fire and Rescue. It's basically a Planes/Cars crossover film!

The film was originally scheduled for a June 2019 release, but Disney & Pixar will now release it on June 15, 2018.

Something about the King in Cinderella being Eric is funny to say the least.

And why would they have moved so much more inland - or at least completely remodeled the castle?

Really excited for Incredibles 2, though. Just have to wait for the story details.
