Me, too. Though I think it's super short like 5 or 6 episodes. Whatever. It can breathe more. I wonder if they're eyeing it as a one and done miniseries or a... open to season 2 affair.
There are so many stories to play out in a gritty dark series , hope they would explore more than one season

If it is a gritty live action TMNT I hope its more structured like Doom Patrol where every episode is its own adventure with some continuity in between instead of Netflix Marvel where it feels like I'm watching a 13 hour movie.

I would be happy with a dark mirage style cartoon series made for the older crowd like the Castlevania series

Strategically 1 good movie will result in a tv show. So you could get both if you play your cards right.

Episodic show would be best. I don't want a 13 hour movie.

A show would cover more content, so I pick that.

10-13 hour long live action episodes of TMNT done right in live action that people can watch on Netflix might move the meter way more than a TMNT movie that nobody might even bother seeing (after audiences being burned by 2 movies in a row). And might change your mind.

I'm talking Daredevil season 1 quality, but like if half of the episodes were like the Nobu episode.

After watching Game of Thrones, it shows a TV show can have big scales, stories and epic stakes. Even though the last two seasons fizzled, you can't deny that episodes like Battle of the Bastards and Hardhome are excellent forms of entertainment, even if it is TV.

With this, if the show is going to be on Netflix, and if they style it more like say Daredevil or The Punisher, then hell yeah, I'm all for it. And besides, with TV shows, you get the little moments which make the characters like the Turtles shine.

As much as I’d love both. I’d have to go with a badass Netflix series.

You sold me on like Daredevil. So, show. Live action, maybe use the prop shop garage suits with some updates.

They had 6 movies on the big-screen, it's not going to make a difference. And any movie will probably just cover the origin and another Shredder fight again, whereas a TV series could cover larger parts of the mythos over time, especially if it goes on a few seasons.

A movie would be around 2 hours long, how much can you really cover in that time but the basics? Introduce the characters, the origin, meet April, explain Shredder the Foot...we've seen it so many times.

A TV series can do so much more. Also in 2020, "online streaming" is basically just as big as movies. This isn't 2005 anymore, "direct to video" is no longer looked down upon.

A series would keep this place busy for longer if it had enough seasons Movie would if there was more than one and granted there would still be a lot of before and after discussion even with just one.

I'd make a live action Netflix. Arrowverse/Gargoyles style.

Wouldn't it be great we had a scene that was just one shot like the Daredevil hallway scene?

If a new TMNT goes live action on Netflix in a darker kind of world like Gargoyles & the Arrowverse, I'd go for the turtles in different species like in ROTTMNT.
  • Leonardo - Red-Eared Slider
  • Raphael - Wood Turtle
  • Donatello - Softshell Turtle
  • Michelangelo - Box Turtle
  • Jennika - Golden Thread Turtle
  • Slash - Alligator Snapping Turtle

Plus maybe add some new Foot mutants to join Koya & Bludgeon in their elite. A chameleon & Tasmanian devil would fit well.

Stockman from being a fly in 1987 & 2012 along with being a cyborg in 2003, how about Stockman as a "flyborg"?

You'd have to change the origin. There's no way you'd put a box turtle in the same bowl as a snapping turtle or a red eared slider. It'd be a massacre.

...So have them in separate boxes?

Or better yet, just not mess with what's not broken. Keep them all as red ear sliders, all hatched from the same batch so they are real brothers. The story worked beautifully for 30 plus years, and it's obvious by the lack of ratings for Rise that people just aren't digging the new changes.
