What is the manual labor you do? You mentioned it in the other thread you enjoy back-breaking labor. What is it?

At that specific time when I lost alot of weight despite eating fast food (while simulatenously gaining alot of muscle), it was working at Burger King while also working for a Butchery where my job was to help shoot animals and drag their heavy carcasses around.

Well all that meat we eat has to be coming from somewhere.
I can't believe this thread has gone so wildly off-topic, yet its more intriguing than ever

So you handled a gun and shot animals dead? How did you feel doing that?

If memory serves, its actually more like a handheld piston/jackjammer type of thing. You pull a trigger and it "hammers" into the head with a rod. Not exactly a pleasant thought, but humane enough, as far as it goes. Usually instant death, though I've heard stories where the animal moves suddenly and it misses the killspot.

I didn't really feel bad, having been become desensitized to it (since I had seen alot of slaughters even as a kid), but it definetly isn't somehing I'd recommend to the faint of heart.

It's kind of weird to think people have jobs where they kill and slice up animals. I mean obviously the food comes from somewhere, but it's weird to think about.
I wouldn't touch a dead animal with a ten foot pole. I can't imagine the smell either and all that blood. It's like a savage living in the wilds. |

To think this whole discussion stemmed from the mention of eating Turtle soup.

Not really. You cook your meat, don't you? Fresh carcass smells about the same as uncooked meat, aside from a small added unpleasantness. (Referring to involuntary urination/defecation at death. All animals do it.) They usually have a hose handy to wash away that stuff, though.

But you HAVE done it, right? That's about how it smells- just more of it. Ever walk past the butcher block in a grocery store? Same thing.

Not technodromey enough.
This thread captures everything about the forums perfectly, where people come for the tmnt but stay to discuss their lives

I wonder if cows knew we grew them just to eat them. Or pigs. Or lamb. They're like mindless animals. Isn't there average lifespan only 2-3 years in livestock?

Do the turtles ever go swimming, and if so, where?

Um, no. Average lifespan for a healthy cow can be 20+ years. Assuming it isn't eaten first. Sheep live about 15 or so. Pigs, 20+.
