^ I'm sure that a certain holographic doctor would have called in sick when The Enterprise E had Borg problems in First Contact.

Seeing how that would have been at least a Mark 3 or 4 by then I doubt it. Robert Picardo's Doc was only a Mark 1- probably replaced long before they got to Enterprise E. (Though whatever version they had COULD have had his ECH upgrade to command the ship if need be.)

Character pinatas.

Seriously, that's a little twisted to want a pinata of a favorite character for a party and then beat it to death. Sorry, but I'd be carefully cutting the bottom of it open and dumping out the contents.

Shredder pinatas for a TMNT themed party would be more fitting, and everyone would get a turn to 'fight' him.

I think the one time I had a pinata at a birthday was for my 8th.

And that was an ACME bomb. Because it was Roadrunner themed. Because I loved Wile E Coyote at the time.

I stand by it being pretty brilliant. Pretty sure it was my idea...

I agree that a Shredder pinata would be pretty cool and the kids could use fake weapons from the Turtles to fight him.

ROFL!! I LOVE that idea. And you make an interesting point. I've never really thought about it but you are right. It does seem a little sick to want to beat on a favorite character to get rewarded with candy or whatnot. Strange message to send kids.....

It was paper mache. We had to make it from scratch. It was pretty fun from what I remember.

i still remember the first energizer bunny spot for some reason, but can't find it.

he wanders off the set of the original commercial and director wonders where he's going..

Searched "as seen on tv" on eBay, this was one of the first (U.S. only, buy now, sorted cost least to most) items. "FemSupport" menopause relief pills...

Why is there a pink dolphin on the bottle??

Spoiler:

I guess it's supposed to be their logo? But that's kind of some half-assed random brain storming...

"Hey, so what do women like? What will attract them and get them to notice our product?"
"I know a few women and... uh... Hm. Oh! Some of them like dolphins!"
"Dolphins it is!"

"And pink?"
"Yes, definitely pink. Girls like pink."

As Seen on TV stuff is fun.

And I like to think the actors have quite a ball making a fool of themselves on camera.

Though, now all I can think of when it comes to As Seen on TV is this

I LOVE.

Too funny!

Yeah, that meatloaf pan... Sure, meatloaf is hard to make look pretty anyhow, but way to make it worse.

That is probably second to only that other one that used to be on tv - though I can't find it online now or remember the name - where they were using some kind of syringe to inject vegetables into meat here and there. So then when it was cooked and cut open, you get this gross looking cross-section of meat with all these little pockets of vegetables (or god knows what else) in it.

I'm sorry, but that looks disgusting to me. I'm not fond of mixing foods in strange ways anyhow... but some primitive part of the brain is saying that looks infested with something that shouldn't be there, keep away! lol Ew.

The only time this works is with cakes. I recall something that did a similar concept, but with pastries, and everything looked glorious. But with meat??? Get that outta here!

Found it. This thing. The "Ronco Solid Flavor Injector" at 3:12.

The video 'thumbnail' says enough. Then you have the injecting clip (3:37) which just looks wrong and disturbing. Then the meat slices...increasingly looking more infested, with 4:12 totally killing it for me.

I could see where it might be tempting to inject marinades and maybe garlic or whatnot into it to help flavor it all throughout, but whole veggies?

Ironically, before finding it, I literally just ordered something else by that exact same brand for my mom and had nothing to do with finding it...

I gotta be honest... it's pretty hard to wrap my head around the fact that I've had my eBay account for over 18 years. o.O (Though I only just recently hit 100 purchases.)

Bonus thought: My first purchase back then...a long horned steer skull. Of all things.

Wanted one with the horns sticking out forward, rather than up like many that were listed. I fought a guy pretty hard for it and won, dammit. lol Right now its actually wrapped in a sheet in 'storage' in the computer room, but used to hang over the archway in the living room and wear Santa hats, witch hats, etc.

Okay, I'm sorry, but I'm going to go there for a second. [But please don't ruin the thread by running off with it in some other direction it doesn't need to go here, k?]

Ran across this TMNT question:

Quote:
[Did] any of them ever date a human? If so, would that make him a furry?
And it kind of made me laugh, because they DO kinda have a point, right? The would-be human partner IS the mammal, after all, and at least lightly 'furry' by nature despite any cosmetic changes or personal grooming. Yes, only fair to apply those labels to them too. lol (And I guess all of them, but Raph the most with those Fox/Coyote women.)
