Tales of the TMNT #64

Out today.

Tristan sent me an advanced review copy a week ago, but I couldn't get Acrobat to work for me so I could view it (which frustrated me to no end).

But I went out and bought it today.

Here's my review with the usual spoiler warnings.

Hilarious issue.

Tristan, since I've got your attention, I have a quick question about the villain line-up on the last page.

I recognized King Cobra, Hun and Lin, but are the blonde woman and the middle-aged guy supposed to be someone we should recognize?

Also, does the voodoo rastafarian dude have a name?

Hey Doc... I've spoiler tagged it so people don't trip...
Spoiler:

The blonde woman is King Cobra's personal aide. She's his lawyer, and insider at City Hall. The middle-aged guy was a Mafia boss who was going to come into play further down the track.

The Rasta-looking dude is the Baron. The idea was that he was an albino Haitian, with black markings being tattoos to resemble Baron Samedi. He's a drug dealer and voodoo practitioner.

Hey gang, I wanted to confirm it with my very own eyeballs before saying anything...

Be sure to check out the spot for GoGreenMachine.Org on the inside front cover of Tales of the TMNT #64.

This is something we have been working with Dan to make happen since SDCC. It was supposed to happen a few issues ago, but didn't, due to a mix up in PDF files going to the printer.

It isn't very often that Mirage allows space for folks outside of their own into one of their books, and we are totally pleased to have gotten in before issue #70.

A HUGE thank you to Dan, Peter, Eric, Tristan, Jim, and the rest of the folks at Mirage. And of course a special thank you to Steve Lavigne for producing the GGM art that we love so much.

Also surprised you didn't see it in the press copy earlier!

We saw it, but the last time the spot was supposed to make it in, it didn't happen, and we had almost announced it...so we wanted to wait till we saw it in print before we told a soul.

This issue is a hoot, indeed. Lawson's art style works pretty well in this issue! Lots of city scenes and buildings seem to be a strength of his.

Got it last night. I really like the way Mikey narrated. I felt it was pretty close to his character. So great job on the writing guys!

This was a great issue. Tristan did a good job of getting inside Mike's head. Interesting cliffhanger too; it's a shame we won't get to see this story arc conclude. Only six issues left.
