what if......

what if Mike used a kusari-fundo/manriki-gusari instead of his trademark chucks?? for those of you who dont know, the kusari-fundo is a three-foot chain with two small weights on the end. very deadly.

we've had him with tonfa, with nunchukas, with kaginawa (grappling hook), and with manriki-gusari... whats your preference???

ahem

actually, the kusari-fundo is a better weapon than the 'chuck but it all really depends on the skill of the person using it.

I think Mike works best with the 'chuks. It takes a lot of skill to handle them without hurting yourself, but they look like fun once you master them.

For myself, however, I've always been fond of tonfa.

but kusari-fundo is for 2 hands and nunchukas is one hand so you can use 2 and it's faster then the kusari-fundo

and whet is manriki-gusari??

a kusari-fundo is a three-foot chain weapon with small weights on both ends.

just because you can use two nunchukas at once does not mean it is a superior weapon. the kusari-fundo is indeed faster than a nunchuka in the hands of a skilled user and has much more power behind it. in addition, it is much easier to conceal, to construct, and provides more flexibility and freedom for the user. the fundo also has greater range. the kusari probably requires more training to master, however.

a kusari-fundo and manriki-gusari are basically the same.

but once again, it is the skill of the user that is most important not the weapon itself.
