You are just "NOW" realizing this?

Well, I guess Elias Koteas was not available, and besides, CHris Evans isn't too bad either. To be honest, if he was a nobody name, I bet people would be more welcom to him, beacuse he does a decent job on Casey.

hey I like chris evans but I believe in something as fitting the part. People are trying to imagine matt damon as captain kirk and that just does NOT work.

when you think of the 87 cartoon casey and the movie casey.. I mean wow...

Prolly so, cause he's been filming SkinWalkers. I think Evans is a good choice for Casey, he, Koteas, and Thompson all have that similar Casey in the voice. No im not saying they all sound exactly the same, im saying theres something similar there in their voices.

well he is an actor so his job is to play various types of people. and not to mention its just his voice he's using so compared to your Matt Daman playing the new Kirk in a live action film that really does'nt make sense.

besides I thought you saw the film--you voted it as the worst film of 2007 in the 'Did You enjoy TMNT?' thread

Well, Evans is too consistently silly to pull off a classic Casey persona. Of course, the fact that the character looks 17 doesn't help matters. But, Evans IS a nothing name as far as I'm concerned. One single comic book movie does not a celebrity make. Now, where did I leave that troll-repellent?

I actually saw the movie and I enjoyed Evan's take on Casey. I suggest the original poster prehaps try seeing the film before they continue to reign down misguided judgement on it.

That's very special.

How about people that have actually seen the film, or even maybe wached the clips share there opinion. I thought Evan's Casey while not at all like old show Casey had a lot of qualities shared with just about every other version of him. He makes the scenes where Casey and Raphael are interacting.

I think I laughed at Casey just as much as Mike in this film. My only regret is I would have liked to see the character get to fight a little but more.

Evan's did take a little getting used to for me, I am so used to Marc's Casey from 4Kids now. But he has grown on me and I really enjoyed the way he preformed the role. I just hope if they make a 2nd film we get to see more of him.

Considering I have never seen anything with Chris Evans in it I have absolutely no idea.

I can tell you he doesn't sound like old toon Casey if that is what you are looking for. He does share similar traits with Marc Thompson's Casey in the new toon and honestly that I feel suits Casey better. Casey is a badass GOOFBALL. You need to have more then just a grumbly, low voice to play him or he becomes to one dimensional.

well I mean does it sound like the actor is just playing himself with no voice alteration? if so I think that's a very bad, cartoony choice

Actually that is a very bias untrue statement. Veronica Taylor bascially uses her own voice when she plays April in the 4Kids version of Turtles and I have always though she has done an excellent job. Sometimes people get cast simply because there own voice fits the character. Once again I state having never actually seen Evans in anything so I can't tell you if he is using his own voice or an altered one. I can tell you that I was impressed with him, for the little screen time he had. And Gellar too impressed me after how awful she was in Happily Never After she was a very decent April in the movie.

Once again I suggest prehaps seeing the film before rushing to judge it, though you already voted it the worst film of the year before seeing it, so I doubt many would trust your opinion anyway.

Lol I'm not here to convince people of anything anyway

The way you describe it though it scares me they turned him into some kind of cartoon teenager.. they might as well have made him into Zach the 5th turtle

Well, I have yet to see the movie, but have seen the clips, and I thought Chris Evans has had his voice for the Casey role a bit lowered to what I am used to hearing from him.

I first saw Chris Evans in the thriller Cellular, before i saw him in Fantastic Four. But in both movies, he sounds considereably different compared to the tone he uses as Casey, in my opinion.

But Gobo, Evans stars in your favorite parody, Not Another Teen Movie.

Absolutely correct. However, it was not a widely praised or highly successful movie. So, I consider him to be still very much not a popular name. Since F4 2 is on the way, I'll consider him a fledgling celeb. Fair enough? But, the dude's still silly as shell...
