New Devildriver CD, The Last Kind Words
I have no idea when this comes out but I got a chance to hear it early.
I've been following this American metal band since 2003 when they released their first CD. If anyone remembers Coal Chamber the singer Dez formed this band after the band split up over a dispute. Dex wanted to do a metal project and this was it. I was a huge CC fan at the time so I followed the band closely waiting for their first CD to come out. I got it the day it came out and I was blown away at the time it was a great metal release espcially for an American band. I saw them on the first tour ever as well and for a new band they had a great stage presence. Their second release came out, The Fury Of The Makers Hand, and yet again I was blown away. Instead of staying the same they evolved and got even better. So obviously I expected this to happen with the third CD. Well it did, they actually made it over the American mountain and have guitar solos in almost every song. On top of that their riffy and have good melody. Also their songs are really hard and I love it. So if your a metal fan I suggest you check this out because it will rock your socks off. EDIT: It comes out July 31st And here's there Myspace if you want to hear them http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...iendID=2338859 Last edited by Spitfire; 06-30-2007 at 02:29 AM. |

I saw them open for Dimmu Borgir last month, and they did a pretty damn good set. I've been meaning to check out more of their stuff.
I didn't know the singer was from Coal Chamber. I hated that band. |

Yeah so did I, but believe me their a 360 on that horrid band. That Dimmu show was pretty good I just hated at my show that the sound guys took awhile to mix the drums right and for alot of the songs everything but the vocals and the drums were to soft.

I'm glad I'm not the only one listening to them. Even though I listen to literally every kind of music these days, I was a metalhead first and I'll always consider myself one.
I'm pretty picky about my metal though (Coal Chamber certainly never made the cut), so I was skeptical, but it turns out Dez isn't such a whiny gothmo after all. I was supposed to see them live with In Flames right after the first album came out but I waited too long to get tickets and they sold out. My girlfriend and my buddy who were supposed to come with me were not impressed, and I was pretty pissed at myself too. Are they on tour right now or going on tour soon? I'd love to make it up to myself and the others.

They just did a tour with Dimmu and I'm sure they will tour to support this new CD release so we just got to wait and see for the dates.
