Games you hate that everyone loves.

I'm starting this thread by saying GTA. I hate it. I'm not a puritanic video game player, but in all honesty, I don't like slasher films, so why would I like blood for blood's sake? I find these "Adult" ultra viloent video games corrupted a generation of so called gamers, and now the gamers expect every damn game to have mindless bloody violence in it.

I hate and suck at Guitar Hero. Not really all the fun to me. I prefer playing an adventure game with an ultimate goal at the end besides mastering every song. All my friends love this game and it's sequel Guitar Hero 2 but I just don't get it.

The game I hate is Madden. Or any sports game for that matter. They're just so BORING. Actually, the only sports game I've ever liked is Blitz for the PSX. Now that games was fun.

Man R-Izzy is gonna kill me for this, but Street Fighter as well. Not that I HATE it, per se, I just can't get into it. I'd much rather play Soul Calibur or Guilty Gear.

- A Link to the Past is also overrated. Zelda II is better.

There's a lot of games I dislike, but my number one most hated 'game' is Tales of Symphonia. In fact, I'm going to rant about it! Pure hatred below:

I borrowed it from a friend and I loathed every single detail of this broken, uninspired, cliched piece of crap, from the tank-like controls to the standard 'anime' graphics to the mind-numbing voice acting, and this game's Petite Apolegetic Love Interest Healer Girl Who Is Actually The Last Of An Ancient Race (Colette or whatever the hell her name was was) remains the most annoying character I've encountered in a video game. I couldn't even stand to play it for more than five minutes at a time, and everytime I figured I'd give it another shot I was quickly reminded of why I stopped playing in the first place and every session ended with me turning off my 'Cube in disgust.

Technically it's not even a complete disaster, but it's the very definition of generic and I will honestly never understand how anyone could take this game seriously, let alone enjoy it.

There, I needed to vent. Don't kill me, ToS fans (Doom).

As I've mentioned before I'm also not a fan of Twilight Princess or the Metroid Prime series, but I wouldn't say I hate them.

Halo - Everyone says it's the greatest FPS ever I just don't see it. There's multiplayer FPS games that I've had way more fun messing around in then Halo and I'm really just sick of people saying it's so great and getting offended when I say I don't like it.

Gears Of War - I own this game mind you*Christmas present* The single player lasted me a few hours, playing all the difficultly levels in multiplayer lasted me a few days*I even played on Insane with a friend who had never played before and we still beat it pretty fast* The deathmatch mode is boring as all hell so I don't even bother playing online for the most part.

Finial Fantasy - A series that just rammed itself into the ground. The sprite based ones were neat, they didn't need to be fancy they were NES and SNES games. Then they go to 3-D and the gameplay doesn't change at all. Ugh I watched my friend play FF 12 not to long ago and it just looked terrible. I had no clue wtf he was doing and I don't think he knew either. He ran around a huge cave killing wave and wave of the same enemy until he got to the end then he just left and went to some other area to do the same thing again.

World Of Warcraft - I hate MMOs. The idea is great, the execution is awful. Go kill 20 of this, go collect 20 of these by killing stuff till they drop it quests are boring as hell. I also hate how it dumps you in an area and you pretty much have to kill the same 5 things over and over till your strong enough to go to the next and if you don't you get murdered. You can group but then you have to rely on someone else not being an idiot and with my experience that doesn't work out for me most of the time.

The Wii - Yes I hate a gaming console. I am so sick of hearing people say how great this thing is. For one any game that wasn't made for it is impossible to play with the horrid controls. The games that are made for it are more like DS games you use the Wii remote for. They last about 5 hours or less tops and aren't worth the money. Examples, Mario Party, Cooking Mama, Trauma Center, and Wario Ware. From what I've heard Umbrella Chronicles isn't very good either. The games people like are Wii sports, which it comes with, Zelda, which is on Gamecube, and Reisdent Evil 4, which is on gamcube and PS2. So I just see no point in the system. I'm sure in time it will get better but the system is just one big gimmick and the only reason it sells so well is they make it hard to get.

God Of War - It's the Devil May Cry fanboy in me that hates this game, but it seems GOW fans hate DMC, Ninja Gaiden I liked, but GOW was just super easy and I had no problem beating it even on the hardest setting. Never played 2 but I don't think I will be anytime soon.

I'm sure I could think of more but not off the top of my head.

Final Fantasy 7. I got it the day it came out, and was so incredibly dissapointed it. I only played it for another week before deciding I'd have more fun bashing my head in to a wall.

I hate the Mario Party games, for some reason. I'm not to sure what everyone thinks of them on a world-wide scale, but everyone I talk to in person loves these games for no other reason than the fact that "It's Mario". I just find everything a bit...stale, after a while. Although I must say that Mario Party 8 looks kind of promising for me, but that's only because there are so many mini games on it...

Well, each Mario Party game has lots of mini-games. That's a basic thing for the series, afterall. Each one I've played (which has been all except for #3, as never got it) have been fun.

*Shrug*. I've been enjoying Wii since I got it. As for the games, I have a good group of ones, and they've been fine. And the controls have been tricky some times, but mostly been good as well.

Tekken....always hated the control in this game.

I hate WOW, if you remember the story of my roomate last year who would not leave the room because he was so hooked on it. It made me hate the game forever.

Oh and Mario Party is fun if you have friends.....go make some friends and then try it.

I'm tempted to say FFX, even though it's a game that, as I've said before, has many good qualities, such as the battle system. I mostly just resent it as well as FFVIII for being (in my opinion) poorer quality games than FFIX, yet they both overshadow it so overwhelmingly. Needless to say, FFVII does the same thing, and maybe 2 years ago I would have mentioned it as well, but I actually really like the game now, so I don't mind it from that as much.

Sorry, but I've got to go with Halo 2. I don't really hate it, but it is really flawed and lots of people hail it as perfection, to which it is not even close.

-- FFVII; I only dislike this because I felt that, visually and story-wise, it was a step down. The characters looked like bastard children of Popeye and I couldn't follow the plot too well. I knew that there was an evil Empire to defeat, but isn't that what all FF games are like? Also, too much Chocobo.

-- Mario Kart 64; Even if the controller was shaped like a steering wheel, I'd still want to go out and kill somebody. I had so much fun with the SNES game, yet when this came out it had horrible gameplay. I'm glad I didn't make it to Rainbow Road or else I would have had an annuerism.

-- Sonic; I dislike all of these because Sonic goes so fast that you can't see what the hell is going on ahead of you. I lost more rings than I got, died constantly, couldn't jump worth crap, and then had a time limit to contend with! Ugh!
