Decide The New Theme

http://www.4kids.tv/buzz/view/903

Puter suggested this be made it's own thread, so here it is. The samples will probably be available shortly.

..."Before Mickey gets his way...", he's probably going to rickroll the theme song, the lazy git

I hope they at least have some decent choices.
And we need to not let 5 year olds choose the theme like I siad before.

I'm surprised 4kids is even doing this. Since when did they care about giving fans the choice about something?

I'm thinking the same thing, Disney did this with the cover to muppet show season 2 box set and they ended up choosing the one they wanted anyway.
Perhaps they're just trying to please us or think they're doing things so we will all shut up about what a crappy job they're doing.

4kids has done a similar thing before. Remember a little bit ago they had fan votes for "Turtles Best Ally", "Best Invention", "Scariest Monster" and stuff like that. I couldn't believe one or two of them that won, but it might have been real.

Haha 4kids is probably doing this since they realized how bad their last theme song was from FF.

Sorry gotta dissagree I think 2k3's theme was less berable than FF was.
I can't say I like theme songs that count...but they're both pretty crappy.
The FF theme just seems a bit more modern to me and more fitting..
The 2k3 theme should have been something along the lines of simple music like batman the animated series had, or a darker song, the song was way to goofy for the tone the show set.

Yeah, neither one of them are very good songs at all. But Fast Forward is a much better representation of the actual product.

Theme songs really aren't that big of a deal, it pissed me off when people used to site the fact that the OT theme song wasn't re-hashed with the NT as a large factor in why they didn't like it (recently a kid told me he didn't like the new MOVIE because it didn't have the OT theme song).

That reminds me of when I saw The Brady Bunch Movie in theaters. There was a kid there who was all bummed that it didn't feature the original cast.

If you haven't read it yet it says, "Starting next weekend you will be able to log onto 4Kids.tv and vote on your favorite “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle” theme song for the upcoming season."

(Putrescent, I disagree with you regarding the 2k3 theme. The melody and the chords and how the song moves is actually pretty good compared to FF -- the arrangement is tasteless. It's like happy flappy the magic squirrel trying to play hardcore. He can't do it. He can only play happy flappy style, which is why FF's theme ends up sounding more natural.)

I'm gonna vote next weekend... though we'll probably be grossly outnumbered by the little people. I hope there'll be an instrumental (non-vocal) option, one that isn't 100% synthesized, and if it is, one that is decent... Time and time again, the lyricists at 4kids have proven themselves incapable.

If they all stink to hell, then it's a sign I need to be a music composer.

As far as the first 2003 theme, after watching the DVD I actually like the version at the end credits without the lyrics. If they had just used that for the beginning and end the opening sequence would be more tolerable.

Exactly. If they can't get the music right, then they should forget the damn lyrics for a while. Bad lyrics will only work if the song is great by itself. Which we know probably won't happen.

I have to say it, but the FF theme song was 1 million times better then the 2k3 theme.

First off the song had everything to do with the situation they were in.

There was no -

when all else fails it's time to kick butt. Now that line sounds like it came from my five year old.

LOL @ never fight unless someone else starts. I'm sorry but the old theme to 2k3, (pre season 3,) just sucked, and smelled of kid antics. I suppose they did it to appeal to the kids though.

However when they started introducing the Turtles starting with season 3, it was a bit better, save for Mikey doing his little dance, and saying, off rythm, "we shredded Shredder," which again sounds like something a kid wrote.

The FF theme was very catchy in that it lost most of the kiddy lines to sing of the situation the Turtles were in.

Amen. 2k3's lyrics were just plain bad until they finally made the switch to character intros which as a bit better.

I liked FF better
