Custom Metalheads Help

So I had 4 Metalheads shipped to me (thanks again Sarah) and I plan to paint them to be 4 Robot Turtles. I guess Metalhead Mikey is kinda my inspiration, but nothing that...metallic.

I was wondering, what should I paint? Should I keep the grey shade, and just paint certain parts blue, purple, red and orange? Or should I paint other things too?

I plan on doing the former first and I guess I can see how that looks.

Just as a sort of reference picture:

Cool idea. I was thinking painting the gray a non-metallic green almost like his feet are, and then painting the eye area, elbow, knee, wrist the respective colors, and leave the metallic body and the black details. That would turn out pretty cool. (And if you get really into it, you could paint the small robotic details with a lighter shade green or paint themblack or whatever.)

Right now the plan is to paint the yellow accents (and of corse the green wrist bands) the Turtle's "signmature color," and from there we'll see where it goes. there are a lot of little details on the skulpt I don't want to screw up.

I'm not sure which way I would personally go with this. Something I would take advantage of if I were you though would be the fine details in the sculpting. I would paint the knobs and such detailing the figures much more. I think it would even be cool to add some ribbon wire or other "non" turtle elements to these figures enchancing the machine look even more so..

I hope any of that would sparks some ideas

how about some custom weapons too?

Don't you have extra bos? Every Don came with 2.

I have a couple of extra Metalheads, but never figured out what to do with them. Your idea got me thinking that I have an extra Slash too, so I might just make me a robo Slash

lol I, too, have multiple metalhead figures that i want to compile into one giant super custom metalhead, that could shoot things out of his chest and arms!!! and maybe with some actual light up eyes.

I love that 'toon accurate Metalhead you've got there, tmntfan617!

Jester: I'd paint the entire figure. Get yourself some metallic paints and go to town! I picked up a bottle of metallic blue paint the other day (I'm repainting the blue parts of the Target ML Wolverine and I wanted to do the shoulder guards up metallic like) and I flipping love the stuff. And I only bought that because of my many failed attempts to make a metallic blue out of blue and silver paint, so I have varying lighter shades of that stuff that are pretty fun as well.

I wish I had an extra Metalhead to make into a robotic Slash per BR's suggestion... I need things to paint metallic blue over here.

But... yes, I recommend going for the full makeover metallic treatment. It'll look wicked cool!
