Favorite Board Games

Anyone here play board games while growing up? Do you still play them now? What were your favorites? Did you enjoy making people go bankrupt in Monopoly? Always touched the sides in Operation? List away!

I always liked Trouble and Guess Who, those were the games I played the most...oh and Splat or whatever it was called, lol.

(if theres a thread for this already, please merge)

I was a big fan of Monopoly when I was a kid. Trivial Pursuit was OK, too.

Haven't played board games in a decade or over.

Chutes and Ladders. I know it's for three year olds but it's my favorite board game.

SORRY! and Checkers remain fun games for me.

Battleship is alright.

I used to think that Mickey Mouse Yahtzee was a lot of fun as a kid.

Monopoly didn't hit it big with me for some reason, which is funny because I still want the TMNT version of the game.

Haven't played any actual board games in years, but always in particular liked "The Game of Life". I love when you have the luck of having so many peg-children that you have to resort to laying them across the car player piece.

What I wouldn't give for a TMNT version. And maybe instead of kids you're just picking up people who were accidentally mutated and the car piece looks like the Turtle van. The Game of Ninja Life.

I'm a massive boardgamer. I also design my own boardgames as a hobby, and I've gotten pretty good at it if I might say so

Also, I created this thread for boardgame talk but ah well.

My faves were Sorry, Life, Monopoly, Battleship, and Clue. Trivial Pursuit and checkers chess and Chinese checkers are all still fun too.

I used to play Fireball Island and Candyland as a kid.
Nowadays it's basically card games. Cards Against humanity and the like.

Oh, some slightly less common ones I own (somewhere...) and loved... Othello and Mancala. Was introduced to them back when I was an unpaid young teen CIA (counselor in training) for a local summer camp.

Haven't played it but been wanting to check it out eventually.

Apples to Apples is surprisingly good, speaking of card games.

I recommend Cards Against Humanity as long as you aren't easily offended. It can be a little sick and twisted. Of course it helps if you have a slightly sick and twisted sense of humor and maybe a few drinks. My friends and I will play it and we usually end up in tears from laughing so hard.

I just played Insane Clown Posse's Into the Echoside...

Was pretty fun! First game we played took about 45 minutes, second game went 15. I'll definitely bust this one out next time I have a game night.

In the midst of my horror binge recently, I decided to splurge and pick this up...

Probably won't arrive for another week or so but I'm looking forward to it. The reviews have been favourable, the art is from a Pixar artist, and the theme is right up my ally. So fingers crossed.
